Happy Birthday Moira!

It's my 'uber bestest friend' Moira's birthday today - whoop, whoop!!!

We got back a loooooong way, met at the age of 13 when we were incarcerated (today's big word)  in sent to boarding school on the generally freezing North coast of Germany.  As we now live such a long way apart we don't meet up very often but it's at least once a year for a long weekend - and it always seems just like it was only yesterday when we'd last met up. That's the way with special friends - you fall straight back into the easy banter right away:)

So, a special friend deserved a special card:
Another easel card and I knew exactly which image to use - being as our meetings do tend to involve a little bit of time celebrating with a drink or three.  Coloured with Pro Markers and twinkled with some touches of Ice Stickles, with some Anita's clear gloss on the glasses.

I got a little bit wicked with the sentiment:
The sentiment was produced on the PC and using this website here to generate the upside down text :) In truth, it's not the best way of doing upside down text as the result isn't a totally accurate flip but I'm running on Ubuntu here rather than Windows and it was going to take me a while to figure out another way of doing it. It works though I think!

This used:

- Background papers from Kate Knight Totally Tropical set (free with Card making and Papercraft magazine)
- Turquoise card by Core'dinations
- Joanna Sheen's 'Cocktail Diva' stamp set
- Pro Markers - Satin (skin), Burnt Sienna (hair), Bright Orange (dress and hat), Soft Green (shoes, cocktails and cocktail umbrella), Lime Green (olives), Burgundy (lipstick).
- Anita's Clear Gloss
- Ice Stickles - Coffee Ice (hat), Mint Ice (shoes)
- Flowers, brads and Card Candi - from my stash

Happy Birthday Moira, hope you have really super-spiffing totally great day!!

Di

  5. What a lovely card for your friend, Moira. The best sort of friends are those that you just pick up from where you left of with aren't they.
I've just been having a catch up with all that you've been up too over the last few weeks and had to laugh at your cats, what a scream!!

  7. Hi Di - if its any help - text can be flipped using Powerpoint, put the text in a 'text box' - grab the green dot at the top of the the text box and turn it. I have a friends 50th card to make and this is such a fab idea. Gorgeous card! x x
