The dear little boys who live next door to us have Birthdays just a month apart. This post is really as much for my own records so I can look back and try not to repeat the same cards from one year to the other.
Having said that, my in house critic did the image panels for me on his computer and all
I had to do was to print them out, cut and glue some card backing as 'frames'. Such a
huge help - thanks Len!
Max and Charlie are still very much into playing at being builders and they spend hours happily moving stones and soil around their garden. It's so lovely to see children actually playing and using their imaginations - what cracks me up is the 'Beep, beep, beep' sound piping over the fence whenever one of them is reversing one of their many builder's vehicles!
Both cards are 5" x 7", tent style:
Apart from using the guillotine, the only cutting I did was the little 'age' rosettes, which had even been thoughtfully duplicated by Len underneath the image so I could pop one on top of the finished card with a little piece of thin sticky pad :)
And, MANY thanks to those of you who jumped straight in and offered to be a Playground Guest Designer. It's times like this you realise just what a great bunch our Playmates all are! I wonder, would Len take a turn perhaps? :)
I would keep your designer on Di, he has done a brilliant job!
ReplyDeleteA fantastic job of both card by both you and Len, I'm sure that the boys loved their cards.
ReplyDeleteSue xx
Well done Len for giving you a helping hand. The boys are bound to love them. Beep, beep, beep xxx

Well done Len - these are fabulous images and I'm sure the boys will just love them to bits. You are right there are some lovely people in crafty blogland!!
ReplyDeleteAwww Di both cards are so cute they will love them and the age rosettes are just as cute too! enjoy your weekend xx
ReplyDeleteYour hubby is really a big helper! These scenes are just perfect for the two kids and the little rosettes with the "ages" look lovely.
ReplyDeleteLen did a fabulous job designing these two cards. I think you need to utilise his skills more often to give yourself a break!
ReplyDeleteLen did a great job, again, and should be a guest designer - maybe even take a regular spot to take some pressure off you.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you both,
Em xoxox
Your Len is a wiz on the computer and tbe designs are wonderful Di. I love the little rosettes for the age number too and I'm sure these little lads will have been over the moon with them. x
ReplyDeleteSafety first! Beep Beep Beep. These are so cute. What fun cards for them. Very cute. [Bunny]
ReplyDeleteWow looks like Len needs to be a designer!!! I love, love, love these two cards! My boys always played outside with their tractors and farming equipment too-making the "beep beep" backing up sound as well. Used to crack me up. It is good to see kids out and playing these days instead of being in front of the tv playing video games. I love a kid with a good imagination! Great job on the cards Di!!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteAnother year already Di...these are such delightful cards for what sound like delightful little boys. Have a great weekend, hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Di,
ReplyDeleteoh my these are so brilliant clever Len, and your self for putting them together.
Love everything about them.
Your sounds coming from next doors garden sounds lovely, and as you say so lovely to hear children playing with these type of toys.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Two fabulous cards and the boys will love them, well done Len for lending a hand but could he cope with all these women. Good idea though to post on here so you remember what you have done for them. I get confused with my Great-Nephews and Nieces, well to be honest with everybody.
