And it's another fresh fortnight in the Snippets Playground!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to play - loads of brilliant entries too!
This is my snippets card for the fortnight:
I used:
- 4" x 4" square white card blank
- snippet of white card, embossed using Darice's 'Picket Fence' embossing folder, then trimmed to slightly smaller than the card front
- next added the sentiment using Memento 'Gray Flannel' ink and a stamp from the Hero Arts 'Good Friends' set
- then die cut the flowers using Stick-It backed snippets of card and a Poppy Stamps 'Wildflower Patch' die. First of all I die cut the whole flowers from a green snippet, left the flowers in place in the die, carefully peeled the Stick-It backing away, popped the die on top of the embossed picket fence and then gently poked each flower straight onto the fence through the holes in the die - thus keeping them perfectly lined up
- next die cut the flowers again from snippets of Stick-It backed peach and mauve card, snipped off the flower heads and popped them alternately on top of the green complete flowers
- once that was done all that was left was to back the image panel with white fun foam and glue it onto the card front, using Collall all purpose glue
And here's this coming fortnight's prize:
MFT 'Wildflowers' two- piece die set and a Darice 'Picket Fence' embossing folder. These were both kindly donated by the lovely Darnell - absolutely AGES ago! The die is similar to but not absolutely the same as the one I used today. It's lovely in that the flower heads die cut separately ready to just pop onto the complete flowers, and the embossing folder is the same of course. Plus, I've added a further Darice embossing folder to the bundle called 'Clouds' (you can see the design on the top right hand side of the packaging). I thought the clouds folder could be used as an alternative to the picket fence folder - or maybe in conjunction with it. I haven't worked out how the two folders could be combined - I'll leave it to the winner to have a play :) For that reason I don't want to split the prize up.
The Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks from now on and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time
on Saturday 4th March. The gates will open again at
midnight UK time on the same day.
It's still a maximum of ONE entry and please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. The prize is all three items as a single 'bundle' as I already said. Please also link
back to the Playground
in
your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking,
it's easy for me to sort out so don't struggle on alone :)
Be sure to call back next week to see the winner of last fortnight's
prize (the papers, flowers, bows, buttons and LOTV 'baby' stamp) and my picks from the past two
weeks as well! And we also have another Guest Designer as well! The standard is so high I might have to do the final whittle down of my short list of picks by drawing straws - amazing stuff girls.
Look forward to seeing what you come up with this fortnight, I think this place is a real hotbed of crafting talent!
Psst, I made this card on Friday afternoon - I think my mojo put in another brief appearance, yay!
Love from Parsnip and me,
Gorgeous card Di! the embossed fence and the tiny flowers look very elegant, a perfect cas card. I'm learning how to make cas cards so seeing great examples of the use of lots of white space inspires me :) would love to play along for the superb prizes ! so yes please

This is such a pretty card, Di. It is a great snippets card!
ReplyDeleteI have been pinning cards like crazy, trying to build up an arsenal of ideas for true snippets cards. I have come to the conclusion that cards which feature die cuts are so perfect for your challenge.
Your pretty flowers are perfect...
Di, I'm really in love with the fence and the flowers on your card! I guess that means I have to play for the prize this week. :-D Just now posted my card and there's a really fun story behind my sentiment which you'll find on my blog.
ReplyDeleteMorning Di - I love that embossed fence, such a sweet card. Just playing for fun this week. And I'm always puzzled by the fact that the "Live traffic feed" thinks I'm in Bournemouth! It can't be IP address based as the server for our area is in Guildford.
ReplyDeleteJane
Pretty pretty card Di. A perfect die set for using snippets too. Jane is confused by the live traffic feed saying she's in Bournemouth, I'm even more so as I live 5 minutes away from her and it says I'm in Belfast!
ReplyDeleteSnigger, and today I'm in Watford it says! Quite often I'm down on the South Coast as well, which is nice when it's a sunny day :) Len did explain to me why it happens - but I've been asleep since then. x
ReplyDeleteGood morning . . . What a lovely Springlike snippets card you're showing us today. Perfick.
ReplyDeleteGreat prize but will be playing just for fun when I see you in the school yard tomorrow.
Hugs, Sarn xxxx
This is a gorgeous card Di and the flowers go beautifully with the picket fence embossing folder, and a thank you to Darnell for donating this, and a lovely added extra with the clouds EF, so thank you for that Di. I am definitely a 'yes please' for a chance to win this prize. x
ReplyDeleteThe pretty flowers in front of the fence remind me that spring is just around the corner, and I love it! I'd love to have my name tossed into the pot for this fabulous prize, so thanks much to you and to Darnell for the great offering! Have a great week ahead!

ReplyDeletePlaying for fun.
Hi Di and Parsnip, also laughing at the live traffic feed which always says I'm in Wallasey, not Oxton! Such a sweet card with those pretty flowers. Yes please to lovely prize. Sending hugs Xx

Oh what a wonderful card, Di! Love the sweet flowers with the embossed fence! Hoping to get a Snippets card made & will play for the prize this time.
ReplyDeleteIt's a sweet, pretty card and I'm so pleased you're feeling a little bit creative again. It must be the influence of spring. (Hopeful, I know).
ReplyDeleteYour card looks lovely Di. It sounds a very tricky job but has worked a treat. I'll be back later in the week. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you've found a little bit of mojo this week, and your card shows it! Yes please to the prize, as I am inspired by your sweet card.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great EF and cute little flowers die. Gorgeous CAS card Di.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I have only just noticed the change in your blog, it is so gorgeous with the pinks and greens, go on tell me it has been like this for ages, sorry if it has.
Hell of a day, why, why, why do they change things on your computer without asking.
Glad to see that you have managed to get back 'into it' .
Have a good week Di.

Such a sweet card! I love the flowers! Thanks for another fabulous prize to win! I would love it! I'll be back later with a card. Hugs, Robin
ReplyDeleteThis CAS card is so pretty, and I love that embossed fence. The little flowers are sweet and colorful, and your mojo has obviously come back!! This prize package is a fun one, so yes please!
ReplyDeleteYour snippets card is such a lovely fresh design to remind us spring is near, Di! Remember when people wished for a house with a white picket fence and 2 1/2 children? Or was that just in this karazy country? Either way, once again I'm showing my age when I speak, but I don't care, I still like white picket fences! I'm going to swing for a bit (very gently) and then I'll come around and knock for a cookie, please Miss, and a hug from der bear. Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLovely creation. At the same time it is quite simple but still gives eye(s) a lot of beautiful things to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI should really start working with dies more. Like your creation, it is so versatile with different colors and sentiments. Could easily be turned into so many different occasion.
I am saying yes for the prizes even though there is a slight concern that I might end up being a copy cat if I am the lucky winner :)
Have a wonderful start on the new week. We are getting the first breeze of spring in Finland, hopefully the weather is not too bad in UK, too.
Hugs,
Eemeli

I don't know how I managed to post my card yesterday without commenting, but I am here now. I love your very Spring.like card. The picket fence is great and goes with the flowers so well. I like to see flowers growing along a fence. It sounds as though you have lost your mojo a bit right now. I hope it comes back soon. It took me a while to get over the virus that got me a few weeks back, but I am starting to make things again now. Yes to the prize please. Lots of lovely items in there. Kate x
