Gosh I'm running a bit close to the wire here with my Rudolph Days entry. It's mainly as I got myself bogged down by starting off a batch of totally different Christmas cards before realising that there was more to them than I thought!
So, I switched horses mid-gallop and made a Penny Black 'Masterpieces Made Simple' card as I had a few ready cut frames handy:
I used:
- 5.5" x 4.25" white linen card, side opening
- snippet of the same card to cut the 'frame' using a die by MFT called 'Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame'
- image from the Penny Black 'Masterpieces Made Simple set called 'snowfall serenity'
- stamped the sentiment onto the image using a Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink pad and a Kirsty Wiseman 'Many Greetings stamp
- then backed the image with fun foam and set aside
- backed the outline scalloped frame with Tonic 'Majestic Gold' pearlescent card then glued onto the card front
- finally, glued the image into the frame - finished!
I'd like to enter this card into ScrappyMo's Rudolph Days Challenge for May.
And, also into the current Allsorts Challenge #678, where the theme is 'Anything but Birthdays'.
That is just GORGEOUS! A lovely RD card and perfect for the Allsorts challenge too. Xxx
ReplyDeleteRudolph Days seem to come around really quickly. Good that you could cover this and the Allsorts challenge with this lovely card. Look forward to seeing your more complicated ones in due course.
ReplyDeleteSuper card Di. Love this stamp and the frame on the card just catches the eye.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely Di, I do love a snowy christmas scene, not that we are lucky enough to see that many here xx
ReplyDeleteGreat card Di, a lovely image set off beautifully by the scalloped frame. xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and so elegant card!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! What a wonderful image - a perfect winter scene!
ReplyDeleteThis is so elegant Di, the PB Masterpieces are I guess the progression from Stickeroos which were always useful, many thanks for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge.

Beautiful image and love how you’ve framed it, but I also have an image of you switching horses mid gallop, so funny, not heard that one! Xxx
ReplyDeleteI made the mid gallop one up - but it did make me chuckle! I have a weird mind! x
DeleteBeautiful card Di - and no one would have thought it was a "change of horse in mid-gallop" :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Maxine
Another stunning card Di the image from Pb is gorgeous as if the frame scalloped edge too xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Di. I’ve got those sitting on my desk waiting to be used!
ReplyDeleteI love this gorgeous card and the beautiful scene you've created Di. Thanks for joinig the fun at Rudolph Days this month.
ReplyDeleteSue xx
You've used this PB Masterpiece so beautifully, I wasn't going to purchase any of them but you may have just convinced me. They'd come in especially handy during the holiday season when trying to complete and mail cards on time! Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at Allsorts challenge!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, they aren't exactly cheap - but the quality is fabulous and they do take a sentiment being stamped on them so very well. If possibly, they look best on your own card made using white linen card stock - unless you decide to go for a total contrast - which probably would look stunning ! xx
DeleteStunning and dreamy winter scene! Just gorgeous. Thank you for joining the challenge at Allsorts this week.
ReplyDeleteHi Di,
ReplyDeleteHappy Rudolf Days.
What a wonderful card and such a great design too.
Love that super image and the sentiment.
Do you think we will ever see snow again at Christmas.
Every year I hope so.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT
Stunning card, though I don't miss the snow yet!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Allsorts:-))m
This is another beautiful PB image Di and I love the stitched scalloped frame and the lovely added sentiment. x
ReplyDeleteThis looks fabulous, Di. Love the image and the frame you chose.
ReplyDeleteWhen you mentioned foam for the mounting...is that foam you buy at a craft/paper store and add adhesive to, or is it packaged already double sided? I read so many are using it and have even watched vlogs where some have used it, but they do not mention if they made it from scratch, so to speak, or pre-purchased. It is not at my local store and hate to waste my "Stik It" to create my own if it is already available on line. etc.
Sorry for the long question...
Thanks for taking part in the May Rudolph Days Challenge.
Hi Mo! I have both types of thin white craft foam - as you would buy at a craft store. I have the plain on both sides and also the 'sticky' on both sides. To be honest - I would be wary of buying the already sticky sheets - they seemed like a great idea but stick so firm there is NO room for error. So, I intend to cover one side with paper or card when I use it up. Basically, I use Collall All Purose for a LOT of my sticking down - it's a clear wet glue and allows some 'wiggle room'. A little margin for error is fine on the back of an image panel but that self-adhesive is so unforgiving if you try to add a special image to a card front. In future I'll only be using straightforward thin foam craft sheets with NO sticky already on them. Can easily pop you some pieces in the post - some of both. Then you know what I'm on about and also what you're actually looking for! No problem - just email! Di xx
DeleteWhat a gorgeous scene it looks just wonderful. Thanks for taking part at the Allsorts challenge this week too. L x
