Really sorry, been sorting out here, and no snippets card from me, just yet. Working very hard on a little batch of cards for fun, in between sorting the 'Craft Cave' out!
But do I have a tale to tell, oh boy! 'We three' heard a whirring and the sound of an engine (turned out only to be a flipping crane!) in the early hours of the other morning. Then I heard little voice, that I've heard before (gulp), shouting 'down a bit, right a bit, left a bit, up a bit - GET out of the way Dudley' and I knew we had trouble! BIG time.
Good grief - there was 'Little Miss Satchel', aka Sarn, who is in charge for this latest challenge in the Snippets Playground, and was only setting up a May Day pole, dear god! I fully expect to be blamed for it of course.
I gave up, shrugged and went back to bed - and lay with my head under the covers - as you do in these situations!
Dudley went out later to check - and also needed a lie down and sleep after his findings, sigh. His cute and most relaxed 'on back with paws in the air' pose:
Photo edited to hide his 'manly/doggy part', lest anyone might be offended, couldn't do an ivy leaf easily - snigger! Will a pansy do?
At the moment, the Snippets Playground is in the hands of a 'reet trouble maker', as my Grannie used to say. Goodness help us, BUT do hop over to The Snippets Playground to join in the frolics - if you dare of course. To be honest - it's actually great fun and we hope to see you there, dancing around the Maypole in good old traditional English style! And there's bound to be cocktails involved.
Meanwhile, I need a good lie down too!
Good idea about the cocktails - perhaps we should have a Maypole Mai Tai?
ReplyDeleteGoodness me - looks like Dudley tried a few “Playground Specials” already and has zonked out!!!
Doesn’t matter HOW the Maypole mysteriously appeared- it only matters that we make the most of it!!!! I’ve already grabbed a flower garland for my hair - just need a few girls to do the same and grab ribbons!!! Xxx
So funny, I’ve already nabbed a garland and waiting for the others at the Maypole ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy May Day!
On my way to see this Maypole. Dudley sure knows how to relax doesn't he 😀
ReplyDeleteOh you're so funny! Love when puppydogs lay on their backs all relaxed! He sure is a beautiful color! We did a maypole in 4th grade, I think it was. Always wondered why they aren't more common here. It's one of my favorite memories & I always wanted to do it again! Off to see what Sarn's up to in The Playground & maybe have one of those cocktails!
ReplyDeleteDudley is a little monkey for laying like that - one of our very first photos of him, taken within hours of him being brought home by him on his 'gotcha day', has him zonked out trying out his bed, on his back, in almost the same pose. I think Maypoles are a very old tradition over here, how fun that you did it though. It's quite an art to weave the long ribbons around the pole - and there are often Morris Dancers jumping about with bells adoring their clothes. We're an odd country really :) . xx
Deleteby 'us' it should have said! xx
Delete:D Dudley's manly/doggy part censured... how fun!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing Dudley no matter how he poses! BTW, I remember doing a May Day dance around a Maypole at school eons ago. Could it be "we" are getting older and no one does that any longer. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. Dudley is showing how utterly content he is with this pose. Adorable! xx
ReplyDeleteI hope you still have the Maypole up? I missed it yesterday! I was entertaining, no not being entertaining I just had a visitor! Love Dudley's pose and the "pansy". Love the laugh while visiting Di.
ReplyDeleteSo cute as always is Dudley on my way to the playground xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute photo of Dudley and love your version of the fig leaf Di. I do remember when I was in in Junior/Middle school dancing around the Maypole and I think we did it every year...it was great fun weaving in and out to get the finished look on the pole, and then we did it in the opposite direction to unweave. I think it's a shame it doesn't happen these days..I'm showing my age now I'm sure..lol. x
ReplyDeleteI
ReplyDeletem stretching out along with Dudley while the others have fun with the MayPole. I'm dizzy enough without going around in circles! LOL
Hooray for the may pole. That is one contented dog.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I don't know what's funnier...imagining the Maypole going up while you hide under the covers, or that strategically placed pansy on Dudley's photo. No one can fully relax the way a pup or a child can, right?!
