Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 271 and 272

Here we go again with another fresh fortnight in the Snippets Playground - and we're into March already, Spring is just around the corner with luck. Thank you so much to everyone who came to play - as always your entries have been fabulous!

This is my snippets card for the fortnight, and I cheated a little bit with just one small black snippet for the sentiment - but it's within the rules folks:
I used:

- 4.25" x 5.5" white card blank, tent style

- white card stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a lovely stamp by Paper Extra - Item No. 50795. This image plus sentiment is actually the same cat as one I've seen quite a lot in blogland, it comes in a larger set of cat image stamps called 'Meow meow' by Recollections. But this little cutie is my favourite and I was delighted when Megan sent one for me and one for the toy box - thanks again Megan! I'm saving the other stamp set you also sent as part of a future prize btw

- coloured the image with Pro markers, making sure to add some warm grey as a 'grounding'

- then I cut a panel of white card a bit smaller than the card front and die cut an aperture using a die I've had for quite a while and been itching to use - it's the MFT 'Rectangle Peek-a-boo Window' die

- stuck the image panel behind the die cut aperture

- next I stamped the word 'meow' from the same stamp set onto a snippet of black card stock using a VersaMark pad then heat embossed it using Stamp Stuff 'Detail White' embossing powder

- trimmed the word 'meow' down and glued it onto the image panel

- finally added the image panel to the card blank, having backed it with white fun foam just to lift it a bit - using Collall All Purpose glue

Love the darling cat stamp set, stamping the cat was made really easy using the Misti to be sure to get those dense black markings - and the die is going to be a favourite here too!

So this is the coming fortnight's prize - no surprises of course:
A cat stamp set the same as the one I used, made by Paper Xtra and kindly donated by Megan - plus a MFT 'Rectangle Peek-a-boo Window' die from me :) This time round I will split the prize if the winner wishes as I'm conscious that some of you might well have one or other of the items - but they both do make up one prize of course.

The Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks from now on and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 18th March. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.

It's still a maximum of ONE entry and please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. The prize is both items together as a single prize, unless you really do only want to try for one item or the other - in which case I'd do a further draw for the second item. Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.

Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking, it's easy for me to sort out so don't struggle on alone :)

Be sure to call back next week to see the winner of last fortnight's prize (the Darice embossing folders and MFT 'Wildflowers' die set) plus my picks from the past two weeks as well! And we also have another Guest Designer too!

Look forward to seeing what you come up with this fortnight - clever ideas for using up snippets are always most welcome! But, even if you use a single little snippet much as I have on my card, it still counts of course.

Sad news earlier on this week, our Playmate Janice's husband passed away last week. I know some of you have already been over to show your love and support at this difficult time - this is Janice's blog link if anyone else wants to call by.

Love from Parsnip and me,

  1. Aww . . . this is so cute! I love kitties! I just linked up a card my youngest made and I am going to come back and link up one for myself (I hope that is within the rules) I will play just for fun (so I don't stretch the rules too much!) but if she wins, she would love the prize! Thanks!!

  2. Your card is darling, Ms Di! I've been admiring that MFT die, so will play just for it this time. So sorry to hear of Janice's loss. I'm kind of in denial that I'm getting to that age where loosing a spouse is more & more common. Reminder each day is a gift.

  18. Love that framed window. I started immediately thinking this would be nice for Christmas cards, you can make them pretty simple but the 'stitching' and stuff gives it some "free" detailing.

Yes please for the prize. And not to forget, your make is soooooo cute :)

  44. Hi Miss Di, and the lovely Parsnip.
yes please if I am lucky.
Your card is so very lovely and I love that wonderful window die as it looks gorgeous with the double stitched edge.
Your cat stamp is fab and you have coloured it perfectly too.
Now I am not a great lover of cats as when I was a young lady working in the office of a tyre firm we had stray cats who resided in roof, and the smell first thing in the morning was enough to put me off them for life.
So very sorry to hear about Janice's hubby I did pop over and give her my condeloences when it came up on my blog list.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
