This is my snippets card for the fortnight, and I cheated a little bit with just one small black snippet for the sentiment - but it's within the rules folks:
- 4.25" x 5.5" white card blank, tent style
- white card stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a lovely stamp by Paper Extra - Item No. 50795. This image plus sentiment is actually the same cat as one I've seen quite a lot in blogland, it comes in a larger set of cat image stamps called 'Meow meow' by Recollections. But this little cutie is my favourite and I was delighted when Megan sent one for me and one for the toy box - thanks again Megan! I'm saving the other stamp set you also sent as part of a future prize btw
- coloured the image with Pro markers, making sure to add some warm grey as a 'grounding'
- then I cut a panel of white card a bit smaller than the card front and die cut an aperture using a die I've had for quite a while and been itching to use - it's the MFT 'Rectangle Peek-a-boo Window' die
- stuck the image panel behind the die cut aperture
- next I stamped the word 'meow' from the same stamp set onto a snippet of black card stock using a VersaMark pad then heat embossed it using Stamp Stuff 'Detail White' embossing powder
- trimmed the word 'meow' down and glued it onto the image panel
- finally added the image panel to the card blank, having backed it with white fun foam just to lift it a bit - using Collall All Purpose glue
Love the darling cat stamp set, stamping the cat was made really easy using the Misti to be sure to get those dense black markings - and the die is going to be a favourite here too!
So this is the coming fortnight's prize - no surprises of course:
Megan - plus a MFT 'Rectangle Peek-a-boo Window' die from me :) This time round I will split the prize if the winner wishes as I'm conscious that some of you might well have one or other of the items - but they both do make up one prize of course.
The Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks from now on and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 18th March. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.
It's still a maximum of ONE entry and please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. The prize is both items together as a single prize, unless you really do only want to try for one item or the other - in which case I'd do a further draw for the second item. Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking, it's easy for me to sort out so don't struggle on alone :)
Be sure to call back next week to see the winner of last fortnight's prize (the Darice embossing folders and MFT 'Wildflowers' die set) plus my picks from the past two weeks as well! And we also have another Guest Designer too!
Look forward to seeing what you come up with this fortnight - clever ideas for using up snippets are always most welcome! But, even if you use a single little snippet much as I have on my card, it still counts of course.
Sad news earlier on this week, our Playmate Janice's husband passed away last week. I know some of you have already been over to show your love and support at this difficult time - this is Janice's blog link if anyone else wants to call by.
Love from Parsnip and me,
oh its so sweet card!ReplyDelete
Aww . . . this is so cute! I love kitties! I just linked up a card my youngest made and I am going to come back and link up one for myself (I hope that is within the rules) I will play just for fun (so I don't stretch the rules too much!) but if she wins, she would love the prize! Thanks!!ReplyDelete
Your card is darling, Ms Di! I've been admiring that MFT die, so will play just for it this time. So sorry to hear of Janice's loss. I'm kind of in denial that I'm getting to that age where loosing a spouse is more & more common. Reminder each day is a gift.ReplyDelete

I'm a 'yes please' for the prize :0)
Love that framed window. I started immediately thinking this would be nice for Christmas cards, you can make them pretty simple but the 'stitching' and stuff gives it some "free" detailing.ReplyDelete
Yes please for the prize. And not to forget, your make is soooooo cute :)
Me too! Great minds think alike :) xxDelete
Love your cute cat card, Di. The framed window sets of the kitty just perfectly and what other greeting could there be but Meow!ReplyDelete

Have a great week.

What a fun card, Di. I love that die and how you used it. Such a fantastic CAS design! I guess I'll have to play along for the prize this time since I fell in love with that die and the kitty, of course. If I don't win them, I'll have to go and buy them. :-D Won't get my card posted until tomorrow, thought.ReplyDelete

Thank you ladies for your kind comments, and Di for your beautiful card. I'm taking each day very slowly, and being looked after very well by family and friends.
Well, I've gotta love this cute card Di, because of the sweet CAS design, the stitched window cut-out and is that an adorable kitty?!!! Oh yes, it is! I would love to be in the running for this wonderful prize because you can never have too many cat stamps!ReplyDelete
Now I am joining with my Spring card and this time I used just one snippet to create the flower.ReplyDelete
The stitched frame is a great die which I would very much like to have... (and the cat too...!)
What a cute cat and adore that stitched window die and sweet sentiment, a pretty CAS card Di. So sorry to hear of Janice's loss and have been over to leave a message. This time I would like to be a 'yes please' for the draw but just for the window die please. xReplyDelete

Hi Miss Di, and the lovely Parsnip.ReplyDelete
yes please if I am lucky.
Your card is so very lovely and I love that wonderful window die as it looks gorgeous with the double stitched edge.
Your cat stamp is fab and you have coloured it perfectly too.
Now I am not a great lover of cats as when I was a young lady working in the office of a tyre firm we had stray cats who resided in roof, and the smell first thing in the morning was enough to put me off them for life.
So very sorry to hear about Janice's hubby I did pop over and give her my condeloences when it came up on my blog list.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
It's been ages since I've been able to get time to play over here! Sure have missed the playground! Love that fun kitty peering out from that wonderful frame!ReplyDelete

Hi Parsnip & Di! (it's Me, sneaking in with a card and I was hoping you'd remember who I was!) Love this cute cat and he looks very happy to be sitting in this fab stitched frame. I'll say no thanks to the prizes (as I'm cleaning out some of my own NBUS, and this frame is one of 'em). Got some fabulous inspiration here and I'm off just now to visit some of them. I really like this clean design that lets Mr. Cat show his stuff. Take care, TFS & Big hugs.ReplyDelete
