A while ago I bought a big set of papers and toppers by Craftwork Cards, called the 'Kitsch Collection'. Have used some for cards but then my eye fell on them plus one of the notebooks I recently bought to decorate - and this was the result:
I used:
- A6 sized, lined, paper mache note book - details of supplier are below
- papers from Craftwork Cards ''Kitsch Collection'
- owl topper from the same collection - and a patchwork flower one on the back cover
- Papermania dome stickers for the word 'Notes' and also the name of the recipient (the Mama of our two little grand daughters)
- snippets of pink spotty ribbon just knotted around the spirals
The notebooks came from eBay HERE.
A little birdie did kindly tell me somewhere else you can buy them, but I haven't had a chance to check that out as yet.
Wednesday was a lovely day out, we trolled up to London for a retirement 'do'. It was fabulous catching up with so many friends/ex-colleagues - but, despite coughing up to travel First Class, it was soooooo good to think we don't have to do that round trip every day any longer :)

What a darling little owl, and the colors on this book are fantastic! I love all the ribbons! NJ!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great book! Love that you were able to personalize it with her name...she will sure love this one!!!
ReplyDeleteI am with you about the travel to the Big City.
Our eldest lives in Vancouver proper. We dread the drive in and the parking nightmare. We drive a 4 wheel drive double cab truck...short box thank goodness...but still a nightmare to park.
We need it for all the moving things back and forth to the lake and this current garden and the many trips to
the compost center. Really need it for the "Highway to Hell" that we take to my Mum's or to the lake...
But it is certainly not built for city life or city parking...teehee
I also so not miss the getting up early to commute to work...bet you feel the same!
Di, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family!

I love that! But then I am a sucker for pink and owls, as you all know lol! Sounds like you had fun which is always nice. When I first started working we lived in Essex and I had to get the train up to Liverpool Street and then tube it to the West End - I so do not miss that lol! Hope you have a lovely weekend Karen x

An adorable lady owl with her pretty ribbons tied round those metal bindings. Love the paper piecing and those dome stickers are so pretty to personalize this very special gift. Glad you got to enjoy some city fun time, and I hear you about not having to do it as a daily trip, just when you want to enjoy some city time. It's always great to get back home though. TFS & Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little owl and a pretty and practical gift! I need to remember to pull out my various alphabet stickers to personalize items like this because it's such a sweet touch!
