Hello again! Glad you could drop into the Snippets Playground. Once again, we've had a week of mixed weather and more snow flurries interspersed with some lovely sunshine.
Time for another snippets challenge:
It takes a certain kind of mindset to painstakingly tear up small snippets of paper and then even more painstakingly layer them back together to create a pink 'decoupatch' style background to show off the floral bouquet!
Here's a photo of the prize for this fortnight:
A super stamp set made by Woodware, designed by Jane Gill, and called 'Bold Blooms - Isabella'. I love it and also think the sentiment is so perfect for a host of occasions.
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks
and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 1st May.
The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same
day.
It's a maximum of ONE entry, please say in a comment if you wish
to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to
the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you
want to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed
if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a
positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're only
playing for fun - otherwise I don't add you to my little list.
Please also remember that I only allow a total of nine
other challenges, which makes 10 in total, when you enter a snippets
make into the Playground.
Dudley loves his walks - once he has his harness on and accepts that there's no way he's not going for one! We have a routine when he gets back home - he always has a particular doggy treat that's his very favourite. Just this past week or two he's learned a new trick whereby if you hold the treat above him and sweep your arm round in a circular motion - he does a joyful 360 degree spin around on the spot! He's done three consecutive spins for one treat so far ☺ Today the spins, next week Crufts agility! I suspect not - he has too much of a mind of his own.
The other day Len brought a tray with mugs of coffee on up from the kitchen and deposited it on a furniture unit. When we looked, there was Dudley up on his hind legs - casually leaning with one front paw against the side of the unit whilst his other front paw hung limply in front of him - he really did look like a foppish 'dandy' from the Regency era! Of course he was just checking there wasn't a treat on the tray - it looked so funny but I couldn't grab my camera in time to take a photo. Priceless though.
This coming week, Len is going for his second Pfizer COVID vaccination, I follow him a week later. Here's hoping he fares better than he did first time round, my reaction wasn't good but nowhere near as bad as his.
We watched the funeral of HRH Prince Philip on Saturday, on TV. Very moving and our Queen looked so tiny and alone. Dudley couldn't understand why I spent a lot of the afternoon in tears - bless his little heart. Extra cuddles had to be given :)
What a lot of entries from people joining in the 400th celebrations - even a good few who haven't played for some while - great stuff!
Stay safe and be kind.
Lots of love from us all - Parsnip,
Dudley and of course me.
No for me. Since I just won #399. I don't want the girls and guys to beat me with a wet noodle.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see Dudley doing his 360.
I am so sorry for your country's loss. There are a lot of us Americans that have great admiration for the Queen and her family. [Bunny]
Oh how fun to see Mrs. A as your guest DT! I so enjoy her Butterfly challenge... and would love to perch a butterfly atop those beautiful blooms. So yes, please, for my name going into the draw. And hope you and Len both do well with your shots. I've recovered from mine, although the second did cause a migraine and fatigue. Meanwhile, my sweet hubby still hasn't recovered two weeks out. He has MS and it appears to have triggered a relapse. He feared that might happen, so is just getting lots of rest. It is so very hard to watch him struggle. He is the love of my life. And after a little over 43 years I can't imagine life without him! Take care of each other.
ReplyDeleteDudley is such a character! Always fun to hear what he's up to! Mrs. A's card is amazing--so beautiful! Love the prize, but I'll stay out of the drawing this time.

You paint wonderful word pictures especially about Dudley. I'm sure there are times when our 4 legged family members have no idea what to do with all their limbs so just leave them hanging hahaha. Yeah I'm back again this fortnight just for fun please don't put me in the draw. Congratulations Mrs A on your generosity and fantastic card. x
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Mrs A as a guest and with a beautiful Woodware stamp generously given by her, and love the card she made with it too with that gorgeous shiny snippety background, and I am definitely a 'yes please' for the prize if I get my card in. Dudley's antics never fail to make us smile, he is such a sweet little dog. x
ReplyDeleteJust the thought of Mrs.A tearing bits of paper and then piecing them together makes my eyes pop! What a lovely card, and prize on offer. Yes please to this beautiful stamp. It would make lovely springtime cards.
ReplyDeleteBest of lucky on your second vaccinations, and let's hope you both sail on through.
Hi Di, lovely to hear your stories about Dudley. Just playing for fun though!

Hello, Diane and friends;
ReplyDeleteI hope this finds you all well. My heart aches for the Queen, and I can understand why you shed tears....I'm an American, and it was sad for me, so I can only imagine how much harder it is for all of you in the UK who "knew" them more closely. It's terribly sad, as he was a good man. I will definitely be playing along (as always), but I will say "no thank you" for the prize this time and hope someone who needs a beautiful floral stamp will win this beauty. I already own this one. Welcome to your lovely Guest Designer, and I will go check out her challenge blog. Have a wonderfully creative and blessed week. Woof to Dudley from our princess, Belle.

Beautiful card from Mrs A - playing just for fun this time.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you both for jab #2 - I've heard folk say that if you get a rough reaction the first time it's less severe second time round.
Hi Miss Di, a beautiful card from Mrs.A, I'll have to pop over for a visit on her blog. I'm playing just for fun this time. Hope all goes well with the second jab.. Megan
ReplyDeleteHi Di and playground friends. I just thought I would pop in to show that I still exist! I'm so sorry I am so missing in challenge blogland. Life and lack of time is to blame I am afraid. I am loving what I am doing I just don't have time to write non DT posts. I hope you are well and safe? I am glad to hear that Dudley is good and that the jabs are going well, abeit with a few side effects. Let's hope that life can continue to settle down to some kind of normality soon.
ReplyDeleteHuge hugs all round, stay safe and stay creative, Jane xxx (PS I have added Jack's birthday card but I am just playing for fun....on the swings I think!!)
Just playing for fun this go round, Di. Mrs. A's card is so pretty and I just love how shiny it is. The torn paper technique is awesome and has always been a favorite look to me. :-) Have a beautiful day!!

ReplyDeleteStunning creation by Mrs A and as love Woodware, am saying yes please Miss, last one I bought is stained permanently.
ReplyDeleteNow 360 spins what a character, but you had me chuckling with his foppish pose checking out the non- treat tray!
Yes, dear Di, I watched some of it, the funeral before mainly, as was too late here, had to go to bed so really didn’t see it properly, but have seen it afterwards. I really felt for her in her loss and pray for them all, and yes, maybe she’d a tear or too as well.
Popped over to check post, as was doing prayer time and thought maybe you’d put in this post re second doses! I’ve been praying for all of you second time around.
In NSW where I live, worked put today there have been 5,405 cases so far and 54 deaths in our state, so by current stats have .001% likelihood of dying from it, die of car accident first, or heart attack, cancer etc.. so I’m not getting it.
Am grateful to Lord that I live where I do ..we also have very good NSW state government, blessed indeed.
Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, 🙏🤗🙏🤗hugs Shaz in Oz.x
