Just mucking around

I decided to have a play with some stamps that I bought at the NEC last November - they had been languishing, still in their unopened packets, due to various other things going on here.

I turned to my buddy Sarn's fabulous work for inspiration - see here and here for some of Sarn's examples. My result certainly isn't anywhere near as balanced and eye pleasing as Sarn's are, but here's one I made anyhow:

I used:

- 6" x 6" square cream card blank

- SU's 'Old Olive' backing card

- SU's ' So Saffron' backing card

- Kaisercraft's 'Grunge' stamp, stamped using SU's 'Pumpkin Pie'

- Visible Image's 'Ink Splats' set, stamped using Memento 'Gray Flannel', although it looks dark blue in the piccie :(

- the lid of a fat glue pen for the circles, using SU's 'Old Olive'

- sentiment is from the Creative Expressions set called ''Art Phrases', stamped using SU's  'Old Olive'

Had a lot of fun, but Sarn (and Andy Warhol fans) don't need to hold their breath! :)

  7. I am not a big fan of the grungy look or steam punk, but I do like your card. It's not too 'messy' and the quote is perfect for it. Thank you for sharing.

  14. Awesome greeting on that card! I love it and I can see lots of possibilities to use it. I agree that you should just let it go and call it done. I've found people gushing over the cards I think are blah and others not interested in the ones I think rock. So different tastes for all and that's great, we can all find something we like.

  20. Oh I bet this was fun to make. It's delightful to see now, and I am so loving that sentiment. I have seen the Kaiser grunge stamps on some blogs, and really like how you've used it here. Your splats did look blue on my monitor, but they were very interesting & arty, whatever color they truly were. Good combination of your stamps for this modern art! You rock. TFS
