I used:
- white DL card blank
- the upcycled front of a Christmas card, from 2012, (who says I'm a hoarder)
- a snippet of backing paper from LOTV's 'Frosty Christmas' paper pad
- snippets of navy blue pearlescent card, punched with Martha Stewart 'Traditional Scallop' edge punch
- a clear gem at the centre of the star and smaller ones along the scalloped edging
- no sentiment, I think this beautiful upcycled card front, for which I take absolutely no credit, says it all
Am also entering this into Crafthazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for January where it's always 'anything goes'.

p.s. speaking of punches I'm sitting ere putting tiny lazy daisy flowers together from the shapes out of a punched border. Waste not want not. Waiting for loads of shrink plastic butterflies to dry as well from a coating of glossy accents. Wink wink!

Lovely card Di. The scalloped border is perfect with the recycled image - perfect for the challenge. I'd like to say I've finished my blue card but I got sidetracked with graveling and a mammoth stamp sort out, sigh. Hopefully today will see some progress. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

Have still to make my recycled card this month. I plan to make a recycled Xmas card each month...maybe even more! I too save the pretty toppers off cards received and it is time to weed out that pile.
Sounds like many of us are working away to reduce our stash!

ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy seeing how you recycle pretty cards. 2012? You're a piker...I have 'em back to the '70's I think. (and no I am NOT a hoarder! Just collect things. To frequently throw out years later -but it's lovely to revisit these old cards. You made a stunner with this one, and I liked your border with the rhinestones too. Also liked the taller shape.
