Washi Tape

Edit. Mental note, do not try to link someone else's post into WOYWW as a favour when using tablet. Managed to link this post instead of Princess Judy's, so if you came to see my desk am sorry! Have asked Julia to remove the link. Asses ears time here :-)

I whistled up a really quick card - if you don't count the huge double layered die cut butterfly I carefully made and then decided against using:
I used:

- A6 white card blank

- slightly smaller piece of the same white card with three strips of washi tape wrapped around opposite corners. I have this 'thing' about not being able to bring myself to tear washi tape across and then just add it in strips across the card front - although I love it when others do this - it's the torn edges that I can't handle

- the sentiment was stamped next, using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and Winnie and Walter's sentiment set called 'The Big, the Bold and the Happy'

- as I said, I made a die cut double layered butterfly and it just wasn't right - then I found a NBUS packet of black Papermania Vinyl Butterflies so used one of those instead

- added a few bright pink gems down the butterfly's body and called it done

  4. I know what you mean about tearing the washi tape - the couple of times I've tried doing that I was so uncomfortable with the results that I hid the ends under embellishments! And I think the lovely bold bright lines of your tapes would look all wrong with torn ends. Super bright, vivid card!

  12. Lovely card, Di. Love the way you have used the washi tape and the butterfly is beautiful. I have problems with washi - would like to make more use of it but so far I've mostly used it on scrap layouts. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  13. Thank you for trying though! Love your pretty colors and that fab butterfly. I was wondering what letter the butterfly challenge was on about the other day. I didn't wonder enough to turn on the computer though. Thanks for solving that mystery. Maybe I can dig out a roll or two washi and play along! PJ

  17. Easy to see _You_ know how to use washi to best effect. This is lovely and the colors + patterns worked so nicely as borders. Love the hot pink with the b&w graphic look. The vinyl centerpiece looked very nice with the washi & the vinyl had a nice shine to it. Very graceful design as well. I don't know about the asses ears over there, but I sure did like the turn of phrase!! Hope you are enjoying your little break (and I HOPE you are taking one too!) TFS & Hugs
