Doily card

I wanted to use a die cut doily on a card so out came the folders of dies and I realised I had quite a little selection to choose from, this is what I made:

I used:

- 5" x 5" square white card blank

- a snippet of raspberry card stock, which by pure fluke matched the butterfly and patterned backing paper so well

- the patterned backing paper is from a LOTV 'Perfect Pair' paper pad, free not too long ago with a magazine

- the doily was die cut using a Marianne Creatables die (LR0130), from a snippet of white Centura Pearl card stock

- the sentiment is a Craftwork Cards one - as is the raspberry coloured butterfly (ready printed and die cut)

Quick and easy,

Di

  1. What a gorgeous doily die! I love the colour combination of your card - everything coordinates perfectly. I'm with you on the tearing paper thing. I'm still having nightmares about 'destroying' a lovely piece of patterned paper for Mrs A's challenge! ;-)

  2. This is one pretty doily die. So pretty in the crisp white with the hot pink of the butterfly. Delightfully fresh & summery green & pink background, and I never think to tear paper either. I'm always told 'it's easy', but my tears never look artistic. You did super on this one, with all the straight edges! Great card. TFS & Hugs

  20. Well done Di. My card is still half made, so I may have to add some sequins and use it for the next challenge! I like that Marianne die. I have it too and I have used it quite a lot. (I have just discovered I have 155 posts to read, so I am doing a quick catch-up). Kate x

  23. You can't rip paper? You don't know the satisfaction of picking up a completed "to do" list and ripping it to shreds before trashing it then.... such a sad, sad life you lead. Anyway, that's a nifty doily and fun card.
