Less is More - Masculine

The current challenge over at Less is More is to make a 'Masculine' card:
I used:

- white DL card blank

- SU 'Pacific Point' card stock

- SU 'Sail Away' stamp and 'Pacific Point' ink pad

- Kaisercraft 'Grunge' stamp and SU 'Smoky Grey' ink pad

- sentiment from SU's 'Sincere Salutations' set and 'Pacific Point' ink pad

Watching 'Creat and Craft' TV lately I've noticed that a few crafters on there use 'Collall' glue so I decided to give it a whirl rather than using a tape runner or double sided tape. Now I wonder WHY it took me so long to cotton on, it's very forgiving and allows some manoeuvring when (if you're like me) you have problems lining up layers accurately. And it comes with a built in spreader too. Great stuff!

  1. O M G...you are so brave...you know what I am going to say don't you? You are BRAVE to stamp straight to card. I shudder to think what mine would look like!

  2. Pretty card - I never use double sided tape - much too expensive - I import my glue from Germany - its called UHU and is GREAT!!!! It dries fast, but not instantaneously, so you can shift things around a bit, too.

  3. Great grunge guy gard, Di. Sorry, I know it's card, but I get going with the all iteration and can't stop myself. Thanks for the tip on the clue, er, glue. Stop it. It's one I've never heard of; maybe they don't sell it outside the UK? I'll check with Cousin Google. Hugs, Darnell

  5. Hi Di,
super card today. I love the fab stamping, and beautiful blue used.
Now I would never have the courage to stamp straight on my card for fear of getting wonky.lol.
Yes that glue is really great I have used it, and the pinflair do a photo glue too, and that is good also.
    Have a wonderful day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

  7. Well done stamping straight to card. It is a great stamp for a man, (or a sailing lady!). I still tend to use double sided tape for big square mats etc, but for everything else I have recently started using cosmic shimmer clear glue, and it is amazing. It's especially good for small fiddly die-cuts. Kate x

  8. Di in answer to your question - I don't know. I didn't do anything to make the post reappear. Strange - but then again sometimes I can't see any of the blogs I'm following and I'm sure some don't register as having new stuff on them.
Love your less is more card by the way.

  10. Lovely man card Di, love the texture that the grunge stamp has made. I've lost count of the number of bottles of collall glue I've got through.I find it seems to give structure to the card too, but without weight , and of course you can rub away the excess!! xx

  14. Grunge Di? ;-) lovely simple card with great colour choices. Always use Colall for matting and layering for exactly the reason you have discovered. Watch CC for 3 for 2 offers and stock up then. If you spill any it peels off when dry too. Wonder how I know that ;-) Big hug Dee x

  18. Super card Di. Great design - love the combination of the Grunge stamp and the blue greeting. I've been using Collal photo glue for some time now and have to agree - it gives a lot of wriggle room. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  19. Great card there Miss.
My adhesive of choice has to be the ATG - hence why I have two - one for scrapping and one for cards. I tend to get glue where I don't want it!
    Hugs
