Pixie's Crafty Snippets - Week 54

Super fast card today. Due to being a hoarder I never throw away die cuts or embossed pieces of card so I dug into the box yesterday and rustled this up, the idea was that it would be good for LIM's challenge (white, black and a touch of another colour but I think it turned out a bit more than less so that idea got scrapped):
I used:

- A6 white card stock

- already embossed snippet of white card

- oval black die cut, I confess from whence I do not know

- Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' die cut, from a little pack sent to me by Dee ages ago

- purple mirri card to form a border

- little purple self-adhesive gems

Which brings me onto the subject of Memory Box dies - the postman brought a packet this week, sent by Maureen/Scrappymo all the way from Canada - to offer as a Playground prize:
How kind is that then? Thank you Maureen! The dies are called from the left 'Primula Blooms' and 'Fancy Blossoms' - so pretty and just perfect for adding little flowers made from snippets to your projects! At first I thought about offering them one at a time, but they compliment one another so well they really shouldn't be separated, especially after their long journey :), and they would be just gorgeous to use for Easter/Spring cards and other makes.

To be in with a chance, just enter a snippets make into the Playground this week and I'll do a draw, one winner gets both, after the Playground closes next Saturday. It would also be good if you say 'Yes Please' or 'No thank you' in a comment. But, I am asking for a snippets make please, maximum of three entries! You can of course enter as many snippets makes as you like but only a maximum of three goes will be put into the sun hat here.

Quite a busy week in the Playground here, despite the dreadful rain - we now have an overflowing duck pond and the donkey has trotted off in disgust :(

Of all the entries this week, here are some that totally caught my eye:

Hettie's adorable little Christmas sleigh table decorations, one to remember for Christmas 2013:

Sarn's lovely card (sneaked in with about 15 mintes to go!)

Irene's crochet plant pot cover and mat
and last, but not least, a little card made by Maggie - do be sure to enlarge it over at Maggie's blog to see the beautiful colouring!

So, if you want to join in the Playground fun and frolics and be in with a chance of winnng these lovely dies - the Playground is open all of this coming week but it will close on Saturday 12th January at noon, UK time and Mr Linky is below as usual.

One final, and more sobering thought - a lot of you will know Bernie of Bernie's Craft Closet. She's one of my very first followers, is a very special friend, has played with you all in the Playground -  and even trusted me enough to let me set her blog up. Bernie is now facing a big battle for her health and has publicly written about it on her blog so please remember her in your prayers - and even if you don't pray as such, please think lots of positive thoughts - together we can perhaps help to be the 'wind beneath her wings' and keep her flying while she faces what's ahead in terms of treatment to make her well again. Bernie is one very special lady indeed.

Di

The only conditions to playing nicely in the Snippet Playground are that your card (or absolutely anything else you wish to bring here to show) must be made by using up snippets (card, paper, lace, wool and ribbon are all fine), and a link back to here in your own blog posting please. Oh, and no nipping or hair pulling of course :)

  1. Lovely card Di, would still work for LIM IMO. What an amazing prize from Mo! I have a birthday in a few days and have spent my bday money from parents on MB stuff, it's so beautiful. I'm going to pop in to see Bernie, I'm very sad to read that she's not doing well, such a wonderful spirit and such a fighter with everything her precious husband has gone through too.

    Hugs
Brenda (yes, I was sitting here waiting for midnight your time. I can go and get me tea now!!!)

  2. Great card, Di, and to my eyes it's LIM - quite restrained. Isn't Maureen generous, sending those gorgeous dies all the way from Canada - don't ya just love crafty bloggers :) Love your picks of the weeks too - I've even copied Irene's crochet instructions, they are so easy to follow. Hope you like my offering this week - I managed to use a fair few snippets covering the albums. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  3. Thank you so much, Di, for your lovely comments about my mini card. They really mean a lot. I am determined to get back to joining in every week again. I have missed my turns on the swings, and playing skipping games with all the others. xx Maggie

  13. Hi Di,
Just popped over to check out what's going on and you are a busy bunny! ;D
Love the card ~ very simple and stylish in it's design. Classy indeed.

I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers to your friend and wish her well.
Positivity plays a huge part so hopefully collectively we can all help to lift her spirit.

  14. Wow, Di, your card is really beautiful!! It doesn't hurt to enter it anyway!

Yes, please, for the opportunity to win the amazingly generous gift from Maureen! (If you are including x-the-ponders.)

Thank you for the beautiful request for sweet Bernie. Life can so suck at times. I do believe that it will help her to have so many of us wishing her well!

BTW, I don't think the donkey trotted off in disgust. I saw a new donkey in town behind Mrs. Brown's when I walked over to the Playground just now. I'm just saying.

  15. Great card Di, get it entered, they won't put you on the naughty step for that one. Have you noticed it was 'corner' in our day, it seems to be 'step' these days.

  22. Hi Di ...just tried to link to join in the snippets fun, after Mrs. A so kindly walked me through the blogger problem I was having. After doing the 'usual', and going to the 'next' I thought I'd linked to my blogpost - just squeaking by with a 'snippet', but I'm not seeing the picture...just a green & yellow blob with my name. Huh, I kinda feel like that blob too! Would remove it if I knew how! So I did try...thanks to you & Maureen for the chance to win the MB dies...but loving all the pretty projects even if I don't make the cut. Thanks for the words about Bernie too. Hopefully a lot of support will be a big comfort to her in getting past this particular bit of onion peeling. Hugs

  28. At last, a snippets card from me - nevermind the playground needing wellies a couple of weeks ago, we almost needed them in our bathroom when a drainage blockage got out of hand on Tuesday. Lovely plumber put it all right in the end, but it caused a lot of work so time to play has been limited - I need to sit quietly on a swing and watch the world go by. Love your snippet card and those dies look great - would love them, but will just be glad that they will go to a good home xx

  29. Lovely card, as usual, and thanks for supporting our sweet Bernie. Just got mine to her in the mail, adding the returned Christmas card I had sent, and had wrong house numbers. I hope even if she doesn't feel like blogging, it will cheer her to know all the support, good wishes & love coming her way, will cheer her. Thanks for the chance to have fun in the Playground. Hugs

  30. What a beautiful butterfly and he looks so handsome sitting on the scalloped oval! Yes please if shipping to USA isn't a pain. I love Memory Box dies and of course don't have enough of them. Big thanks to Maureen. What a lovely thing to do!
Prayers are going up regularly for Bernie & Jim from here. If you could email me an address, I would love to snail mail her a card. If you have it that is. I'll keep one eye out for that donkey!
