Quick post from me this week:
I gave up in disgust - you know the feeling that it's not worth continuing with a card? I got that late yesterday so 'upped and ran off' leaving things until later today when hopefully things will fall into place.
Besides which, the 'shove it to the right' pile was threatening to overwhelm the desk:
Sigh, some serious sorting out to be done I think. But, Monday was a much better day - swans and ducks on the river at Salisbury:
But even they weren't fully cooperating - we had to hunt for a group of them that were remotely interested in being fed - I suspect that a mahoosive busload of 'bread laden tourists' must have beaten us to it :(
For a good snoop round lots of much more productive desks, but perhaps no ducks and swans (in fact I'm not sure why they're here either, perhaps to try to brighten up a very boring desk) do hop over to Julia's - and Happy WOYWW!

Your desk just looks like the evidence of a good crafter. Super photos - I love Salisbury, although I haven't been there for some time now, Hazel WOYWW #8 x
ReplyDeleteyes I love shove-it-to-the-right-or-left piles.
ReplyDeleteBridget #7
Your desk looks busy. and the swams are lovely. Great photos. #25
ReplyDeleteI like the look of that CAS card, what's not to like? I'd have had you go to the cathedral and buy me a replacement mug from there that my hubby smashed if I'd realised in time that's where you were going! Hope you had a great day out.

I no longer have a shove it to the left or right, it's just pile it high! Thanks for my snoop have a great week Happy WOYWW!! ((Lyn)) number 18
ReplyDeleteHello Di,
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how many times I have to leave something and come back to it!
I went to a Stampin Up party last week and ordered two stamp sets.... oh, but I thought I was trimming back.
Happy WOYWW

Doesn't matter if your desk is messy, shows there's stuff going on - unlike mine lol.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Elaine #31
That card is looking good to me...I see wedding when I look at it!
ReplyDeleteThe swans are so gorgeous...we hardly ever see them here...I took buckets of pictures of swans when I was in England. I was so blown away by how many you have.
great looking card love your pictures have a great day
ReplyDeleteHello, Love your swan photos, the stone houses and bricked in walls
ReplyDeleteawesome. The way you describe your desk pile makes me laugh. I have on too. And the one I showed... is not the only one I have.
Keep smiling and creating
What pretty swans. Haha... I used to live near a lake. The geese got so used to be fed they would chase you and bite you...if you didn't bring bread!
ReplyDeleteKatie (39)
I like your card & you crafting desk , I have a project pushed to the back of my desk also. jill #48
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes you just can't get the project to come together.... hope you have better success today. Helen 19
ReplyDeleteToo terribly familiar with the "shove it to the right pile"!!! LOL! Bo Bunny makes some terrific paper stacks though!!!
ReplyDeleteJeannie #62
I'm sure that the finished card will be perfect Di. It's always a good idea to walk away and start again if things aren't going well....you will win :-)

Salisbury?? Blimey, I'd have dragged you to Fabricland, Franklyn's, BH Fabrics and many other places had I known!! I go shopping there in preference to Swindon, it's only about 30 minutes away from me!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ '71 xx
Morning Di!
ReplyDeleteYes, Julia knows I'm blogging the photo - though she's probably forgotten! At the time I said "You SO know this is going on the blog..." Hehehehehehe.
Shame the swans weren't co-operating. I swear that that the river birds in Salisbury are the fattest anywhere!
card looks pretty good to me. Salisbury was and interesting place but I don't remember seeing this view. Very peaceful. I went in the mid 90's when they were just getting going with the renovation of the cathedral. Went to Stonehenge from there. Interesting trip. Have a great week and thanks for sharing. Vickie #68
ReplyDeleteI think your card looks great but I know what you mean. I gave up on a card a few days ago and went back to it next morning, and everything fell into place...
ReplyDeleteHugs Helen #77
Love your shove-it-to-the-right pile, mine is to the left, I think we all have them. Great pics of the swans too and your lovely creative desk. Happy WOYWW, Anne #32
ReplyDeleteThat shove to the side pile is my normal way of creating space in my craftroom, but after the whole new reorganising bit, I am hoping I will be a little better at putting things away (like thats ever going to happen LOL)
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!

Great pictures Di. Hope your card comes together today. Know the feeling!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sandra Take a peek at MY DESK here
I want a closer look at what's in your 'shove it to the side' pile! I can see some stamps peeking out, lovely ribbon, a spiral bound book of some kind..... Hope your card comes together today. Happy WOYWW! Victoria no.87
ReplyDeleteI love your 'shove it to the right' pile... I have one two, though it's not, at the moment, quite the leaning Tower of Pisa that yours is! Hope inspiration will re-strike with the card... I'm starting with everyone with a 1 in, as I'm at 101 (although last week my number kept changing!)... nice to WOYWW-meet you!

I have shove it piles to the right and the left and the middle is pretty awful now too. A major tidy up is called for. I have never been TO Salisbury, just driven through and round on the way to other places - it is hard to just drop in when yo have a caravan on the back of the motor.Have fun. xx #102
ReplyDeleteHi there Di (thanks for your comments on my blog - they are lovely). I would not DARE show my desk - there are piles to the left, right and centre, front and back - and hubby has just been into town to swap something (bless him) and he came back with something else to add to my desk - a fan with a water bottle attached so that I can cool meself down when it gets hot - again. Mind you it does work.
ReplyDeleteHugs Sue P (still guffawing after yesterdays story)
I see lots of lovely papers! I too walk away when I can't figure out where to go next. Clears the head. LOL. Gorgeous swans.
ReplyDeleteKaren 107
Hi Di, Another busy looking desk as always it looks like your getting ready for another project, lovely photos too thank you for sharing them have a great day xx
ReplyDeleteMany times, I just up and go for awhile. It usually always helps!
ReplyDeleteGlenda 103
Your card looks very elegant to me Di. A tiny greeting and I say perfect. Love that deep deep purple colour. WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 15
ReplyDeleteI am very familiar with the "shove it right" technique also mastered "throw it in the bin" . Such a beautiful pic of the ducks in the water.
ReplyDeleteSandra @95
We all have a 'shove it to the right' pile Di, though mine is 'to the left', and occasionally it has to be dealt with. But far better to get out in the fresh air and feed the ducks!
ReplyDeleteKate x
That is usually the best thing to do walk away or throw a paddy and give up until later LOL when you come back it all falls into place. Love the unco-operative birds LOL bollocks to the tourists that spoiled your fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting

At last, it's taken me ages to get to you - all my fault as I started from back to front today. Anyway, I'm here now and I can't see why that card is giving you angst - it looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteI see you have a stack of BoBunny paper in the push-back pile - love that brand of paper.
It's not like swans to ignore the prospect of more food, even if a coach load of tourists have just tried to spoil their appetite - nice photos.
Happy WOYWW, Hugs, Elizabeth x #105
I know the feeling with the card. Hopefully, things will fall into place when you get back. dani #137
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of the swans and all the goodies on your desk!
ReplyDeleteI spy another lovely paper pad this week! Yes we all have those 'shove it to the right' piles on the edge of the desk! (sometimes on on each side!)
ReplyDeleteBernice #140
We saw swans sailing serenely down the River Severn when we went on the Severn Valley Steam railway on Monday. A blissfully relaxing and gentle day out! x Jo
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's Di, glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteLove your desk and nice to know it's not just me that shoves things to one side in disgust.
Kath x
I've often had a 'shove it to the right pile and shove it to left, the back , thefloor etc etc. Love the photos. Hope the card is working out. Anne x #145
ReplyDeleteYep I've been there too.. just leave it to one side and go back the next day.. sometimes that works... love the pics... I cooked your fab recipe... it was yummy let me tell you... now going to start on some more!! thanks again... Hugs May x x x x
ReplyDeleteWhat great photos. I too have the shove it pile (often it overtakes the whole room). I saved your recipe from last week, but have not yet tried. Have a great creative week. LisaDV#124
ReplyDeleteI have definitely had projects like that! And actually a few that are tucked away in my closet still just waiting to be finished :)
ReplyDeleteMary Jo #120
Di - been sent here by May for the Nasi Goreng recipe...... PURLEASE??????
ReplyDeleteI am glad I am not the only one with a pile of stuff shoved to one side. I like the photos of the swans too.
ReplyDeleteCarol
I'm feeling just like you with today's project but I'm not able to shove it to the right...(I'm on the dining table still) so I came to desk hop instead. Much more fun ;D
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend whatever you get up to ~ enjoy!
Happy WOYWW

What a downer day when your creativity takes off and your feathered friends won't take your bread!
ReplyDeleteDarnell #136 (I'm late getting around this week, as you know, what with all the drin, er, visiting I did with my friend. See you on the playground!)
Sorry to be so late visiting this week Di.
ReplyDeleteI think we’ve all been there and had cards in front of us that just aren’t working but it’s somehow reassuring when it happens to someone as talented as you are.
Loving the pictures of the Swans. All I seem to get on the lake near me is Canada Geese and they will eat any time of the day or night, Lol.
Happy Crafting!

Lovely photos in Salisbury, Di - I went to school there but haven't been back for ages. Love feeding the ducks!
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks busy and productive, and no evidence of failure as far as I can see.
Thank you for your lovely understanding comment on my blog. I'm not too worried about keeping up at the moment. I've managed to do some creating this afternoon and evening which is nice. Dad is slightly better but still confused, and still in hospital. My sister has come down and is staying with Mum for a couple of days.
Happy belated WOYWW,
