Once again, quite mixed weather here - it's pleasantly warm but not unbearably hot. Plus we've had some pretty spectacular downpours, along with hailstones at times. I always remember my Mum telling me that when she and my Dad lived in India, it wasn't unknown for them to have hailstones the size of mothballs! To clarify for anyone who might misunderstand - mothball were used in the 'olden days' to basically keep moths out of clothing and linen - about the size of a large marble and they ponged of some sort of camphor. My granny always had that faint whiff of mothballs about her when wearing her 'Sunday best' for an outing. She was almost Victorian in many ways - always, but always, wore a severe black hat to go out, even to the corner shop .......... as well as to the beach! Little black lace-up boots or shoes, thick stockings, hat pin holding hat firmly in place and more often than not a black tailored coat. Memories - I do so wish I could have bottled some of my granny's soft cuddles and her sweetness.
Anyhow, that's away from why you're here. I posted my snippets card on this blog back in April. It's an Easter card but the timing wasn't right for folk to receive the prize in time to use if for Easter, so I bypassed offering the prizes I had waiting - but here it is now:
- 5.5" x 4.25" rose pink card blank, side opening
- piece of patterned paper from a DecoTime paper pad, the papers are slightly 'flittered' and do catch the light very prettily
- trimmed the patterned paper and glued it to the card front
- stamped the image using the Misti, Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and the Stamping Bella 'Oddball Easter Bunny' stamp
- coloured the bunny with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, picking up some of the colours from the backing paper
- stamped the sentiment using a sweet little stamp from 'Stamping All Day', the Misti and Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink
- popped the image onto a snippet of olive green card, same as in the backing paper and then glued the panel onto the card front - finished
I used just the one snippet on my card, for the backing behind the image.
And here's the prize(s)
on offer - not one but three chances to win one of these stamps:
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks
and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 21st August.
The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same
day.
It's a maximum of ONE entry, please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Remember - there are three chances as I have three stamps here! Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Such a cute image & darling card, Di! Please leave me out of the draw this time. How sweet that Dudley was keeping track of you--just to be sure everything was OK! We're still having a lot of days way too hot & no rain. Fall can't come soon enough for me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun stamp and certainly plenty of time for the winner(s) to make cards for next Easter. Hope to raid my snippets and make a card later on today once the domestic jobs are out of the way.
ReplyDeleteFun image and cute card.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sarn xxx

ReplyDeleteGreat card Di! Funny Bunny! How sweet of Dudley to watch over you as you sleep :)
ReplyDeleteReally great card! I'll pass on the prize this time, thanks :)
ReplyDeleteA fun image Di and a brilliant card design. Hugs, Carol S.xx
ReplyDeleteA fun card Di. I do love Stamping Bella images but never make Easter cards so will be playing just for fun. Have a good week x
ReplyDeleteGoshohgoshohgoshohgosh!!! A bunny and a oddball. What a perfect combo. Off to climb scrap mountain and make a little something or three. Please include me in the draw. Your card is awesome. Dudley is, as always, such a cutie. Take care and enjoy your weather and your memories. Hugz
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Di. I've not forgotten about you and will be back to play soon, I hope! xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes, please to the prize. What a cute stamp and card. My two cats went to the vet a few weeks ago and our little cat weighed MORE than the bigger one. As my mother would have said he's "sturdy". He's so fluffy, I assumed he was lighter, like cotton. But no! At least he's in his proper weight range.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet story about your granny. I don't really remember my grandmother other than she was soft and had special treats for us.
Very fun card! Absolutely love the polka dot background as well! I'd love to enter the challenge-YES PLEASE! thank you!

I love the paper you used. The colours are great and you can see the sparkle.
ReplyDeletePlease enter me for the prize if I am fortunate to win.
Many thanks Mandy xxx
Hi Miss Di, seems like ages since I last played in the playground, I'm playing just for fun and since I've been using up plenty of snippets. Have a wonderful week.. Megan
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun bunny! Great for eastercards but I could do more with it if I should win. So I say yes!
ReplyDeleteYou made a nice card with it and used beautiful DP!
Lia xx
Hi Di the card is gorgeous I love it. I am here just for fun this time. Take care. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteLoved reading about your gran. I'm just playing for fun this time.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Stamping Bella images, so this time it will be a yes please for me in the draw! That's such a cute card you made with the fun paper! Dudley is such a thoughtful dog to carefully watch over you, but then I'm sure you and Len watch over him the same way! Love is definitely a two-way street!
ReplyDeleteHee hee, I think this bunny woke up extra early in order to hunt for eggs...or is she hiding them? Either way, YES PLEASE to this fun prize. I can already think of different ways to use this image by swapping out the basket for other elements.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love the way Dudley was checking up on you. I am convinced that they know our schedules and keep track of everything (especially their meal times). I weigh our Toby by getting on the scale myself, and then picking him up...and subtracting the difference. Of course, that means that I end up weighing myself too..but I try not to look at that, ha!
Very cute! I really like the bit of sparkle on that fabulous dotted background!! i will play just for fun this time, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading about your granny too Di. We used to visit several old ladies that belonged to our church when I was a child and they too were 'Victorians' that always wore black and had extraordinary cameo brooches and a whiff of not moth balls but some kind of floral.
ReplyDeleteLove your Easter bunny card with that pretty sparkly paper background. I am going to sit out this time for the draw thank you Di. Hugs, Vicky xx
Such a sweet and funny bunny, Di! Loved reading about Granny and I totally identify with the whiff of mothballs scent. My Grammy was the same way and I adored her. My blog (Grammys Attic) is named for her and her attic which was filled with wonders to be found in old trunks which were deliberately left open for the grandkids to explore. The attic was our playground and we always knew when it was time to come down for dinner because all the cooking odors from the kitchen wafted upward into our play area. Sigh... I miss those innocent days. No need to put my name in the hat for the prize this time. I'm playing for fun.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be included in the random draw for this challenge. Thanks for another FUN challenge. I'm forever looking at snippets on my craft table and refuse to throw them out (unless they're super tiny) because I know that eventually I'll use them on a project somehow. Thanks for the incentive to do so.
ReplyDeleteYes please.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet.

Yes please Di, count me in. CarolG
ReplyDeleteCute card, Di. I'm thinking that tiny punched flowers could be added in the basket to hide the eggs, so it wouldn't just be an Easter card image. I'd love to win this quirky stamp, so please put my name in the hat for the draw. xx
ReplyDeleteLeuk verhaal over je oma.
ReplyDeleteDankjewel .
Je kaart met de leuke grappige postzegel is top.
Mooi papier.
Fijn al ik deze mooie prijs zou winnen
Ik zeg ja.
Groetjes Elle-jeanne
Yes please to the draw. I'd love to win one of the darling prizes. Thanks. Hugs from me and Willie.
ReplyDeleteIf Dudley is loosing weight perhaps he could share a few tips with Harley cat! Having short legs and a round little tummy hanging down makes for a very comical look especially when he runs. Little white pot belly swings from side to side hahaha. It was sad news about Kath that and Darnell closing Twofers reminds me that while we have all been crafting and sharing like this for a good few years now, 20+ in most cases. Those years have also seen us become a little older. We can only hope that there is a younger generation taking up the hobby to keep our wonderful world wide community alive as each of our turns gently takes us. Mind you I still intend to be around for 2066/7 so there is no rush. No prize for me please entering just for praise and someone else will make so much more use of that cute little image. Stay Safe, Keep Well & Have Fun xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet stamp - I'm a 'yes please' for the prize draw.
ReplyDeleteHelen x
I love that rabbit!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my blog the other day Di!
It's such a cute card and beautifully done. I don't make many Easter cards so I will enter just for fun and leave it for someone who really wants to win.
ReplyDeleteL x
Love this stamp so yes please for the draw! I can definitely remember the smell of moth balls but my mum once got hail stones the size of cricket balls in Sydney!
ReplyDeleteYes please to the prize, thanks Di.
ReplyDeleteStay safe

Absolutely darling card, Di! What a fun, fun image (yes, please for me!). I only have one Oddball Art image (Halloween) and it's just as cute; well, ALL their images are just cute! lol
ReplyDeleteHot here in So. Florida, too; and now, rainy as well with the hurricanes & storms every which way right now.
My hubby just bought some mothballs - for the yard - thinking they would deter the raccoon that's digging holes every other night! lol I'm here to tell you - it didn't work. LOL He's gonna have to trap it, I think.
Be well!! xoxo Becca
Ah, cute critter and delightful card, Di! As we know, you just can't beat cute critters either on cards or in real life! I love that little Duds was patiently watching you all night long. What a tender chap he is! Hugs, Darnell
