.....have a wonderful way of reminding us what really matters.
I LOVE this sentiment stamp, and over the past weeks it's been so very true. So many supportive comments when I felt like throwing the towel in :( Thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart! What lovely friends I have, comments, emails and phone calls - I can't ever thank you enough!
I used the sentiment on this card as a thank you note for one very special act of kindness - my lovely bouquet of flowers which arrived from Elizabeth when almost at the lowest point:
I used:
- a shaped card (Craftwork Cards?), with the edges stamped with SU's little leaves stamp from their 'Bloomin' Marvellous' set and 'Certainly Celery' ink - snigger, as it was for a lady who does beautiful work on the insides of her cards I did do some rather pathetic stamping inside too :)
- the flowers are stamped with SU 'Smokey Slate' onto assorted pieces of pink snippets, die cut (all with SU stamps and die cuts from the ' Secret Garden' matching set' ) - edges and other bits tweeked with different sparkly Stickles and also some Liquid Pearl Drops in the centres
- the SU 'Certainly Celery' leaves were die cut using the same set plus even more Stickles
- the sentiment is by Penny Black and is called 'Friends Matter', stamped in SU 'Smokey Slate'
Then I made a box, with help from Len who climbed up to where I keep the box of un-assembled boxes - bless :)
And then what did I do - crept into my car, went and posted the card and also did a supermarket shop - YAY!! Not there yet and I do ache but it felt do good to be more mobile after two weeks plus! Len is quietly proud as he sort of pushed me but is still watching like a protective Daddy Bear!
OMG!! I just spotted we reached 60 entries into the Playground - the BEST medicine ever! Thank you soooo much! I will catch up on commenting ASAP, don't want to get too cheeky and let this back bite back at me!! It's 9pm here and am off to bed to rest. Love you all!! xx

Glad to hear your back on the mend and taking each day slowly.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely card. Flowers are super duper. Hugs Mrs A.
Beautiful card Di. Love the flowers with the sparkles ... and a very lovely sentiment.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are starting to feel better and even managed an outing on your own. Take care. Loll xx
Such a pretty card Di, the sentiment is lovely, as are the fabulous blooms xx
ReplyDeleteReally pretty card Di.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're improving Di. Tiny positive steps in the right direction are good. We are all here to support you so never forget that...just shout any time.
Biggest gentle hugs,

Oh my goodness...that is a fabulous sentiment...and the flowers are so lovely!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card for a beautiful lady. Elizabeth is so kind and thoughtful...I have been the recipient of a RAK from her...what a sweetie.
Take care and don't do too much as you don't want to set yourself back!
Len is wise to encourage you but to hover and protect you too!
Like youand your cancelled Bath outing, I was smart and trimmed my Black Friday shopping stops. We usually stay 2 nights and shop till we drop. We went down earlier today and shopped till about 11:30pm and then drove home...just didn't think my back could handle a hotel bed!
The only thing we didn't get done is Joann's...that is my fave craft store but I decided it wouldn't do me any good to be laid up over Christmas if I pushed myself too.
I got everything on my list at the stores we did go to, so I am a happy camper. There is always next year!
Morning Di . . . so excited about you feeling better each day. I am so pleased for you.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS card with a wonderful sentiment. I bought that stamp a while ago and MUST use it!
You are well past the 60 mark now as I joined at 67 - bet you make well over 70.

ReplyDeleteHello Di, I can vouch for the loveliness of this card ... it's gorgeous, both inside and out :) So thank you very much ... it's a lovely gesture. Lettuce is now my favourite shade of green :))
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of snippet cards to add to your tally for the week; I just have to find time somehow to write up the posts ... hopefully later. At the time of writing, the count has just gone into the 70s ... marvellous!
Hugs, Elizabeth xx
Gorgeous card Miss. Love the schparkle on there.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are getting a little better, slowly. Fergus and I are going to do someat we aint done before and actually go round the Baths on the inside instead of just going round the building. Looking forward to that but not if Fergus jumps in!
Hugs
xx
I love those sparkly flowers and the sentiment too. I hope you are finding your feet again. You still need to take it easy, but I am sure you know that. Chin up! Kate x
ReplyDeleteLove your card Di, love the sparkle on the flowers xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card hun, perfect thank you for the gorgeous flowers. Back pain is a nasty witch, am being polite.
ReplyDeleteDo take care though - I don't like to think of my friends in pain like that, mine I just brush off and refuse to talk about it at times so it doesn't always win. So happy we finally got past the 60! It's all because of you huni, we all love you. Big gentle hugs xxx
Really fabulous card, great sentiment and so pleased that things are improving slightly day by day, just keep off the playground trampoline for a while yet, just to make sure.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be lovely if you could reach 100.
Actually I wasn't trying to kill you off, I actually wondered if it would be easier for you, soz, only a thought.
