I used:
- 5.5" x 4.25" tent style card blank, cut from 'Syntegro White Linen Silkweave' textured card
- assorted sizes of snippets of the same white card for the image panel and all the little die cuts
- cut the following die cuts: the flowery border/grass strip using the Charlie & Paulchen die called 'Flower and grass border', unbranded sitting bunny, window opening panes by The Greetery called 'Fresh Air Window Frame' and finally, all from Gummiapan, a nest and a couple of chicks from the 'rooster, hen and chickens' set plus three eggs from the 'Easter Branches' set
- once again lots of little die cuts to colour in using Distress Oxide ink pads and a water brush
- then used a large ball ended embossing tool to slightly round/shape the bunny, nest, eggs and chicks to add some dimension
- rubbed some Ranger 'Micro Distress Glaze' onto each of the 'rounded' pieces
- the image panel was trimmed to 5" x 3.75"
- then die cut the window into the image panel using a die from The Greetery 'Fresh Air Window Frame' set and backed it with a snippet of yellow patterned paper (the camera is telling fibs and showing it as almost green!)
- stuck the flower & grass border onto the front panel using red line tape across the bottom section and a glue pen for the blades of grass
- used a die from The Greetery's 'Brick Layer' set of dies to cut a stencil from 125 microns Mylar and stenciled the brick pattern in one corner of the window, using a mix of Distress Oxide inks on my glass mat, all mixed up with a squirt of water
- glued the arched open windows in place using a glue pen
- built up the rest of the little scene using some teensy pieces of thin foam pad behind the nest, chicks and bunny. The eggs had already been stuck to the back of the nest using red line tape prior to me touching the Micro Distress Glaze BTW
- adhered the front panel onto the card front, using strips of narrow foam tape to raise it up a bit
- finally, using a pencil, I added the eye and little nose to the bunny's face
Didn't add a sentiment this time, it would have knocked the layout to pot.
I'd like to enter this into Darnell's NBUS Challenge #49 - the floral grassy border, nest and eggs, window and shutters plus the 'brick work' stencil were all having their first outing.
This cute bunny has been so busy in the last times and surely need a vacation :) I LOVE so much this scene, is my favourite! So clever put him sitting on the window and the stencilled bricks catch my eyes!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what are zoomies, but I think Dudley surely rolls to scratch his back and also to leave his smell, he marks his territory. How fun! :D
Hugs and cuddles to the rolling guy! :)
Hi Alice, 'zoomies' are when a dog races around in circles - just for the joy of being alive. I will post your prize this week - it's been a bit busy here xx
DeleteI’m with Alice cuz I think this bunny card is my favourite too. The scene is brilliant and that little extra touch of the brickwork - made with your own stencil - is inspired you clever thing you. Top job! XXX
ReplyDeleteBunny has earned his rest I think after his very busy Easter time. Loving the brickwork effect using your own stencil and all the elements are combined into a super Spring scene. Pleased to hear you and Dudley have been enjoying the sunshine in between the showers.
ReplyDeleteI think Bunny (who like the others I adore) is out in the garden watching Dudley roll in the sunshine.

Fabulous card, Di, a lovely Bunny scene. Just letting you know that Bunny has arrived safely here for his holiday. He has already jumped onto one of my cards ready to post on my blog today and even brought a snippet of the yellow dotty paper with him. xx
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Dudders is still happy to do zoomies! Shame about the potential worm rolling!
ReplyDeleteFab card and that bunny IS adorable
Happy Sunday
Kathyk

I love that bunny! A great final card before his holiday! Hope he goes somewhere nice!
ReplyDeleteA lovely card Di and such a cute scene you've created.

Another super bunny card Di and love all the added little die cut embellishments, and the open window with the polka dot background is the perfect sitting spot for him. I love your Dudley tales, and the weather has been better for getting outside this week, and giving him the opportunity to run riot, and just a long as it's only a worm he has rolled on...lol. x
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed seeing what that cute bunny has been up to. I just mentioned to Liz that he reminds me very much of Rabbit from Jane Hissey's Old Bear stories...that takes me back 25 odd years!! Despite the weather forecast looking better we came back drenched this morning, I am so looking forward to not having to dry Bo and Bumble!!
ReplyDeleteSpring is definitely teasing us this year. I hope this week proves to be the turning point. I am so looking forward to it. another great way to use that sitting bunny xx
ReplyDeleteAdorable farewell to bunny as he goes off on a well deserved holiday!! A perfect tribute to spring with the windows wide open, the bulbs blooming, and the chicks and eggs! Hope you're having a nicer spring than Vancouver - so cold and wet here this spring, it's impossible to get my spring garden clean up done.
ReplyDeleteI'm just dropping by to see what you've been up to and am treated to this adorable little die cut bunny! What a charming scene that is perfect for spring. Great idea to add the facial features with pencil, to give him more personality. I'm also happy to get my Dudley fix...but not a fan of worms (in the garden OR on a pup's fur!).
ReplyDeleteAwww so cute Di! Love this bunny! Your little addition of the bricks was the perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteMolly is in to chasing spiders this weather (and tasting them) so she's as bad as Dudley, if not worse!!
Ohh Di your bunny is just so cute enjoying the view love the rustic bricks and the lovely spring flowers so cute is your card xx
ReplyDeleteAdorable scene, Di! Love the sweet buns sitting in the window, taking in all that fresh Spring air
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all your bunny cards Di - he certainly has worked hard these past few weeks! Sounds like Dudley is making the most of all Spring has to offer!
