Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #404

Hello again! At last - we have lovely sunny and warm weather here in the South of England! AND, it's a Bank Holiday as well - it normally rains over Bank Holidays. so the sunshine is a wonderful bonus.

Time for another snippets challenge and also another lovely Guest Designer. This time it's Susan B, all the way from Canada! And we have not one but two really sweet sample cards:

Susan will tell you all about how she made her lovely cards when you hop over to her blog, link above, and I do so love the pretty blues that Susan chose for her cards.

Here's the prize from Susan for this fortnight - images taken from the internet due to camera glare:

The prize, VERY kindly donated by Susan, is a Hero Arts 'Knitting' stamp set and matching Hero Arts 'Knitting Frame Cuts'. Please be aware that the sentiment 'Sweater Weather' on the little girl card isn't part of the prize. What a great prize - especially with the surge in knitting during the past' year and a bit'. AND, it's pussy cats too. Thanks so much Susan!

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 12th June. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.

It's a maximum of ONE entry, please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.

Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you want to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're only playing for fun - otherwise I don't add you to my little list.

Please also remember that I only allow a total of nine other challenges, which makes 10 in total, when you enter a snippets make into the Playground.

My hair appointment earlier this week went off very smoothly with all the protective measures in place. I still didn't feel 100% comfortable despite that, but perhaps that's not a bad thing for the time being. Things are somewhat in the balance and we're all hoping the Indian variant of COVID doesn't go absolutely wild.

Today, Saturday, we bathed Dudley. Well, he's put in the bath with no water in and we just switch over to the shower mixer. Lesson learned from a good while ago when he was in a partly filled bath and made a bid for freedom ...... it was like a tidal wave! The little monkey managed to sit up doing his 'boxing hare' impression - which gave Len a great opportunity to wash his tummy with ease. He's like a lovely sweet smelling white ball of fluff now - currently sleeping off the experience under my desk ☺

Stay safe and be kind.

Lots of love from us all - Parsnip, Dudley and of course me,

  1. Oh my, YES PLEASE to this adorable stamp set! Thank you to Susan for donating it and for making the beautiful sample cards. I'll have to pop on over to her blog for a closer look but the stenciled backgrounds already pulled me in. Although I managed to learn how to crochet simple items, knitting was always beyond me. Stamping a knitting theme however, is something even I could do.
Oh, I can imagine how handsome and sweet smelling Dudley is after his bath. Our Toby has, fortunately, always cooperated very well in his bath, and I keep the water very warm, which is how he likes it. The blow dry afterwards is less to his liking.
So happy to be one of the first to link up this time. As you'll see, I used part of my calendar page that I talked about when we discussed those Whimsy stamps backgrounds. Now I have to keep from hoarding those pages as well.

  2. A really cute set and two lovely cards to showcase the prize. Back later with a card. The Dudley story made me smile - memories here of some very wet occasions in the past attempting to bath a reluctant and very lively Airedale terrier in the bathtub.

  3. Lovely cards from Susan and a great prize too. I'm not going to be in the playground for a few weeks as we're going away in Zeb tomorrow.

Have fun in the playground and be good!

  7. Great to see Susan as a GD and donating this super stamp and die set for all the cat lovers, and a big thank you to her for that. I love the little lady knitting and the sweet cat and basket of wool on the second and a wonderful complementary stencilled background using two different brilliant techniques. I will just play for fun if I get my card in Di and leave this prize for the many playground cat lovers. x

  19. Oh, what a darling set and fabulous card! Delightful, Susan. :-D Yes, I'd like to play for the prize. I'm writing up my post right now and it will go live later tonight but in short, everything on my "Shop 'til You Drop" card was made with scraps, including the large background dp piece. You'll have to read my post (once it's linked up) for a full explanation. :-D

  20. Oh my! What two sweet and adorable cards!! (Of course, I am a{n almost crazy} cat lady!) Love the soft backgrounds; they are just perfect. While a part of me really want the cute stamp set, I just can't think I would use it enough to make it worthwhile, so I think I will play just for fun. I crochet a ton, but don't knit a lick!

  22. Susan's card is so sweet! I love the stenciled background - so perfect for this image. And what an absolutely adorable stamp/die set this is!! Yes, please, I'd love to play for it. Thank you, as always, for the chance.
Hope all is going well your way. We went on a 3 day trip to Orlando (first trip in 2 years!) and I'd say it was 50/50 of people wearing masks. I decided to only wear one when I had to (going into stores) and I am doing fine. It's only been 5 days since we've been back so we'll see how the next 5 days go ... I have not been vaccinated and am on the fence about doing so.

  23. Sweet cards & lovely prize! I'll stay out of the drawing this time. Glad things were OK with getting your hair cut. Hubby still wore his mask at the store even though it's not required for those fully vaccinated. Going to be hard to feel safe after all this time. Can only imagine Dudley's baths! Fritz tries to hide from his, but he doesn't really fight me once I've got him in the laundry tub. Just have to be on the alert as soon as I start to dry him. He's ready to jump out instead of being lifted out & that would be disastrous! Stay well, my friend!

  30. Hi there, Diane. I sure hope this finds you well, creative and blessed. Life gets busy, but it's always a good day when we can get something accomplished; and when we have time left to create and craft, that's the icing on top. I was blessed to do both this weekend. I'm happy to share my HELLO card (which was inspired by your HELLO card the other day, Di). I will say a big Yes, Please! to the darling stamp and die set. Congrats and thanks to your talented Guest Designer. How fun! I'm always inspired when I stop by to say hello and take a peek at what's happening. Have a great one.
