I used
- 5.5" x 4.25" white card blank, tent style
- slightly smaller piece of white card
- snippets of white card onto which I stamped three little piggies using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and stamps from Clearly Besotted's 'Perfect Pigs' set of stamps
- coloured the piggy images with Pro markers and then die cut them using the matching set of dies. I love Clearly Besotted dies as they don't need templates, I just eyeball the alignment (not always perfectly but that's down to operator error)
- then I took the piece of card which I'd trimmed to slightly smaller than the card front and die cut three circles - and at that point realised that there would be too much of a gap at the top of the image panel so I trimmed that, and the card blank down by quarter of an inch. leaving the side to side measurement the same size
- backed the piece of white card with a snippet of Dovecraft Back to Basics patterned paper - which only just fitted, phew
- then stamped the sentiment using the same black ink again and also stamped three small hearts from the same set of stamps, which I then coloured using Pro markers
- backed the image panel with some fun foam and glued it to the card front
- finally, stuck the three little piggies in place using thin sticky pads
Really enjoyed making this card - it would look every bit as good just using one little piggy (perhaps with the 'Miss You Pig Time' sentiment from the set), but I wanted to show more than one pig as it's naturally up to be won!
So, the prize this fortnight is:
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 6th July. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.
It's a maximum of ONE entry, please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.
Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you want to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a positive 'yes' on the blog post itself - just in case you're playing only for fun - otherwise I don't add you to my little list.
I thought there would be no photos of Dudley again - but on Thursday we took some after his regular brushing session. A video clip would have been such fun but you'll get the idea from the photos that were taken in quick succession:
Looking so cute and his coat perfectly brushed |
We really ought to be more aware when Dudley grins - it means that mischief is coming |
Sure enough - he made a dash for the sofa at the far end of Len's study and started to dig for Britain! Thank goodness we have a protective cover in place :) |
Phew - that was exhausting - digging over and all your hard work undone Dad! |
But - when I look at you like this - you just melt ... and I know it too! |
Lots of love from us all - Parsnip, Dudley and of course me,
Oh he is just the cutest! So fun seeing the series of pictures, Di! Totally adorable card--great design! I'll just play for fun this time. Thanks for the tip about CB having good close out sales!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card Di, I love the cute piggies. I'll be in the playground on Wednesday and would love a chance to win the card please.

ReplyDeleteThe card is so adorable, Di, as is Dudley, of course! I'm playing for fun this time around as I already have the piggies myself :-D

ReplyDeleteLia xx

ReplyDeleteCute card, too. Love the punny sentiments. [Bunny]
Three such sweet little pigs Di and love the way you have highlighted each one in front of a circular cut out and lined with that pretty spotted paper. I'm sorry to have been missing from the list again this time but aim to do better. What great photos of Dudley, from handsome and well groomed to messy playful mode...lol, what a character, a really fun companion. If I get a card in I will just be playing for fun this time. x
ReplyDeleteThe little piggies are too cute and I love the card! Those little polka dot windows are perfect to display them and I like the little red heart accents! Dudley grows more charming each week in his photos, and I absolutely LOVE that smirky grin :) Enjoy him - he's clearly such a wonderful companion to you both :) Yes please to the prize draw this week :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame these stamps and dies are discontinued - the pigs are adorable and you've used them brilliantly on your card. It just has to be a 'yes please' from me of course. Adorable again - the pics of Dudley love to see them so thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOMG! Dudley is the cutest and so is this card! I LOVE THOSE PIGGIES SOOOOO MUCH! Yes, definitely playing to hopefully win!!! Thanks for the chance!!!

ReplyDeleteHave a great week will be back later with a card and would love a chance T winner the pigs x
Oh Dudley . . . you little scamp . . . messing up your "do"! But who could stay cross with you?
ReplyDeleteTerrific snippets card Di . . .and cute prize.
Hugs, Sarn xxx
Oh my goodness Di, your card is beyond cute. I can't stop giggling at that one piggie with his backside toward us! He looks like he's saying, "so what are you staring at anyway?", haha. Yes please to a chance for this adorable prize.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dudley, I wouldn't be surprised if he has his puppy moments all the way through his adulthood as well. Nothing like a bath or grooming to make a dog go a little bit wild. I think they're letting you know that they think dogs should look rough and ready, and not sweet and fluffy! Our Toby is nearly 15 years old and still runs like a speed racer after his bath. That's what makes them so fun though, right?
Aww Di I adore piggies and these are the cutest so a big please put my name in the hat from me for this challenge! I would love to win these. Dudley looks the cutest in these photos! Hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant card, super fun images and a great design. Super photo's of Dudley especially love the last one.
ReplyDeleteKath x

Oh, this post is full of cuteness!!! :D Your card is a delight, those piggies make me smile!! I have a dear friend that has a little farm with a big pig named Jerome and a lot of other animals (she doesn't eat animals, they are "pets" for her)and the piggies remember me Jerome so much!! I have to find this stamp set, I'm sure she will love so much receiving a card as this! :)
ReplyDeleteDudley is the most mischievous cutie!!! Seems that he doesn't want be elegant and brushes... :D But he is sooooo cute!!! :D
A lot of cuddles by me!!

Ages since I joined in Di - sorry! Would love those piggy items - aren't they cute? And of course so is Dudley!! Hope you are keeping well - was hoping to catch up again but the colouring class where I thought we might meet up clashed with my niece's wedding and then was cancelled anyway... Some other time hopefully...
ReplyDeleteHi Di~ Sorry couldn't resist saying that. Yes, please enter me in the drawing. Would love the prize.
ReplyDeleteI added my snippets card today and as I told you before: I like the piglets so much, so yes to the adorable prize!
