Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #351 - results

Let's dive straight into the business at hand, with a little catch-up at the end of this post.

As always, it's so hard to pick just three of your lovely entries - but here goes anyhow:

Wowser, Alice came up with another wonderful snippets make. I totally love this die set - and what a wonderful way to use up loads of little snippets!

I just burst out laughing when I saw this brilliant card, made by Marianne! It's wonderful - and totally appealed to my sense of humour, a surfing penguin :)

And Majda brought this utterly fabulous 'twisted easel' Wedding Day card to share with us. LOVE it - you must go over to Majda's blog to check out other views of it!

And here are two new Playmates - it would be lovely if you could hop over to say 'Hello' to them:
Aimslee
Ros (Crawford)
Thanks for joining in girls - hope you come back to play soon!!

So, we had two new Playmates this time, and a total of 46 entries. Lots of folk are busy gardening etc. right now as Summer finally seems to be on the way - and crafting often takes a bit of a back seat.

Now it's prize draw time, and our winner of the Clarity Stamp 'Lizzy & Rockery + masks set is:
Jackie T

Congratulations Jackie, I think it's been a little while since you had a win here! Please send me your address, with your full name at the top as well so I can copy and paste or just write straight from the email onto the envelope - for speed and ease. It's also confirmation that you still would like the prize of course and I'll post your prize once I hear from you. Please put Playground Winner or similar in the subject line of your email in case it drops into my junk mail. Email address is on RH sidebar as always.

Remember folks, there's still almost another week to run on Challenge #352 - you can find it HERE. The prize is a lovely Craft Emotions die called 'Hogweed', kindly donated by Sarn

No new photos of Dudley once again - a lot of the week has seen me fighting to get better. At least I'm moving around the house now and only use the walking stick outdoors - even managed to get to have blood taken for some tests (seemed like half an armful to me!). I find out the results next week but almost know what they will be. Sky high readings due to this goat, sigh. I've also discovered something else about one of the meds I take, which might be contributory - but until I've seen the doc I won't really know. When you're going round in circles like this you do tend to grasp at any hope that you might have of pinpointing the cause.

Back to Dudley - he is soooo laid back about the hedgies now! Granted they're outside the fenced in patio area so Dudley can't get too 'close and personal' - but he's certainly not fazed by them at all. Thanks to Len and the garden hedgie ornament - talk about the 'Dog Whisperer'!!

This coming week is set to be a busy one, including a trip for Dudley to the grooming parlour. I found this on line - and did have such a chuckle:

Now you know why groomer's generally cost more than hairdressers do! Wish us luck - we're trying Dudley out in a doggie booster seat to see if that helps reduce his anxiety about going out in a car. We already tried some herbal calming drops last time and they did make a difference. Ideally, we'd love him to cheerfully hop up into the car, tail wagging and looking forward to the drive! I can almost hear him muttering 'In your dreams!'.

As always, Parsnip and Dudley send their love, and so do I of course! And thank you so much for all the get well wishes - as Len would say, I'm working on it!

  4. Pleased to hear you are somewhat improved and hopefully the blood results will show up something they can do to remedy your ongoing problem. I will try to make a snippets card for this time but having had cataract surgery in the week my vision isn't quite as normal as I'd like and probably won't be until the other eye is 'done'. Patience required methinks!! Great picks from the last challenge. Take care.

  11. Great picks and congratulations to Jackie and lovely to see two new ladies including Ros to whom I mentioned the playground to as she often gets snippets out to make cards with. Sorry I have been away and ran out of time to play in this challenge but hope to do better next time. I'm glad that there is some improvement and hope that continues Di and that eventually you will get meds that get it under control. Hope Dudley feels less stressed in the car using the booster seat too. x

  12. Oh, I have been picked again, such a big honour!! :D Thanks so much!
Congrats to all the other favourites and to the lucky winner!
Welcome to the new entries, surely they will enjoy the Playground! :)
So glad you are becoming to feel better, Di! Best wishes for a speedy health improving!!!
The top ten reasons for the highest cost of grooming than hair cut makes me giggle... But obviously it's only because I don't have to put out my money LOL :D
Hope that Dudley gets used to the car. I think it hate car because you use it only for going to the groomer or to the vet.. A possible trick: bring him on car for only a little bit of street, make him walking around and then come back home by car. Doing it daily and then he will get more used to the car and less awful.
    Hugs

  15. Gosh they are amazing picks Di! I sure wish you could get to the bottom of this gout and get it gone!!! I know it is difficult to get rid of though, but hoping it will happen for you soon and that you find out if one of your meds is contributing to it. I hope not, but one never knows. Dudley sounds like he is quite ok with the hedgies and I love that! Len was so smart to do the garden hedgie with him! I had quite a chuckle reading the grooming thing. lol I was going to suggest to you that maybe a booster seat or crate would work. Kahlua does much better in her crate than loose in the car. Funny how that is, but they have their places/things that give them security. Good luck with it!!! Hugs, Brenda

  16. Wonderful picks & glad to see my good friend, Ros, has joined us! Good to hear you can get around the house with the stick & hope the progress continues! So, you found a new groomer? Hoping it goes well. Great that Dudley is fine with the Hedgies & good to know the calming drops helped. We've never tried them, but Fritz generally settles down as we drive. It's funny--he wants to go & does jump up into the crate, but always starts with a few barks & cries as we drive. Then when we stop he yells--"I want out of here now!" Going to a drive-through is totally embarrassing as he barks the whole time! Ahh--these pups--haha!

  20. You have great picks, as always. Congratulations to the ladies. I'm so sorry you are still having trouble, but are able to get around some. Maybe the results will show the answer. I hope you aren't taking something that is contributing to causing this. I really got a great laugh out of the hairdresser poster. I'll remember that when Molly gets groomed! She rides well in the car but is having a hard time jumping in. I have to pick up her hind end and give her a boost.

  21. Congrats to all the winners and top picks! Wow, those are the most beautiful cards and I especially love the way that Alice colored up her die cut. I'll have to remember to add color to some of my larger die designs, instead of leaving them plain.
I am so sorry to hear that you're still dealing with yet another gout flareup, but sounds like you just might be improving. Of course, you were improving the last time too..sigh.
What a fun scene that must be for Dudley to get along with the hedgehogs. Isn't it hilarious that Len's hedgie garden decorations actually worked to get Dudley to accept them? Best of luck on the grooming appt..and keep on getting better Di!

  24. Thanks for the shout-out, Di! The card was so much fun to make.
We saw a few goats grazing by the side of the road this afternoon when returning from a shopping trip to Heraklion (hubby spotted the dual-speed WOW heat tool at the craft shop, bless him, so one of those came home with me), but I'm pretty sure those are different goats from the one that keeps pestering you. Sending positive vibes your way!
