- 4.25" x 5.5" white card blank, tent style
- snippet of white card stock onto which I stamped the Stamp-N-Stencil snowdrops, using Memento 'London Fog' ink
- coloured the image using Faber Castell 'Polychromos' pencils
- then used the stencil that came with the stamp set to add a tickle of clear Wink of Stella
- used a snippet of SU's 'Wild Wasabi' card stock, trimmed to slightly smaller than the card front and then die cut the aperture using a SB 'Labels Eight' die
- glued the image to the back of the frame
- added the image panel to the card front, with a piece of fun foam sandwiched between to just lift the front of the card
- the sentiment is from the Personal Impressions 'Everyday Words - Happy Birthday' set, again stamped onto a snippet of white card using Memento 'London Fog' ink
- punched the sentiment out using SU's 'Modern Label' punch and glued it onto the card front
- added a couple of matt green Josy Rose nail heads to the sentiment label
I bought the little snowdrop stamps and stencils set a while ago, whilst in Coventry with Kim. To be honest, once home, I wasn't sure I liked them. Mostly the fact you really should use coloured embossing pastes when stencilling put me off using them - but the tickles of clear Wink of Stella through the stencil really worked a treat!
I had such a struggle making this card yesterday. I have absolutely zero mojo at the moment and there's no sign of it returning. I've looked at all my favourite challenges to see if that will kick start things but right now, no luck! I feel OK in myself - just disinterested in card making and all things crafty. Maybe a bit of a clear up and sort out of my desk is called for to see if that helps. Perhaps I've literally 'worked myself into a tight corner' - snigger :)

It's a lovely card and I hope it's helped to bring your mojo back. I have other things to use with stencils - some of the lovely glimmer waxes and sparkle mediums (media?) from Imagination Crafts, both of which are gorgeous used with stencils.
ReplyDeleteWhen my mojo goes walkabout, I lift out my old kits from my early crafting kit buying days and make three cards from each kit. I'm soon left chomping at the bit with frustration at the limitations of the kits, and at that point I'm ready to start crafting in earnest again!

ReplyDeleteHow lovely to have snowdrops to gaze at Di...such a delightful flower and your card is so pretty. I think if you feel really burnt out then you should have a break from it for a short time. If it's just your missing mojo and you would like to craft then I tend to make some embellies for cards I will be making in the future eg butterflies and adding pastes and crackles, hearts with dimension etc. When I finish them and see them sitting on my craft table they usually inspire something,especially if I have been out for a walk and said hello to Mother Nature. Just take things easy...winter is also pretty dire with the lack of daylight...we should really be hibernating ;0) Hugs xxx

What a sweet flower the snowdrop is and such a pretty card you have made with them Di. I have already seen a few round about and there are even some daffodils out as you come into our village, so I guess Spring is on the way. I was only thinking the other day that I need to keep a look for a stamp with some on. Sorry Mr Mojo is taking a holiday at the moment but this time of year is the worst. I usually look on pinterest for inspiration and quite often I see something which fires my imagination and sets me off, but don't worry as I'm sure it will soon be back. x

I've heard quite a few have gone missing and I have a sneaky suspicion that they snook into Santa's sack and went back to the North Pole with him and they're having a big party up there - just hope he sends them back soon! I really like snowdrops and this is a pretty stenciled card. We do not have any snowdrops yet, it is a touch early. I really need to buy a few more and get them planted for next year.

Beautiful card, Di. Love your snowdrops - so pretty. I have a tiny snowdrop stamp that is a favourite at this time of the year - must dig it out and do something with it. A clear out of your desk/craft room might just be the thing to get your mojo going again. It certainly works for me. You will find stuff you forgot you had and next thing you know you'll be creating again. If I was a betting woman I'd take a bet on it :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
