Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #302 - turquoise/aqua ... a little or a lot

First of all - am still playing catch up here and will be round to comment on Playground entries 'toot sweet'! Still not made Len's Birthday card either, sigh.

Broke open a couple of new purchases from the Coventry trip (meeting up with Kim) for today's card:

I used:

- 5" x 7" white card blank, tent style

- an image from the Hunkydory Little Book of 'Sparkling Season' toppers, ever so slightly trimmed

- mounted the image onto a piece of deep red silk/satin mirri card, cut just slightly larger than the image

- next stamped the sentiment using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a stamp from Phill Martin's 'Scribbled Christmas Sentiment Corners'

- finally, glued the image panel in place and called it done

And of course, the Christmas corner sentiments were a 'must have' as I love my Phill Martin 'Everyday' ones so much! It might be just my view but I do think these sentiments work best on very simple cards and seem to just 'lift' the card to another level.

I'd like to enter this into Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #302 as well as Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for October.

And I made three the same - hooray for the Misti!

  2. These Phill Martin corner sentiments are just that bit different and the Hunkydory topper with those cute snowmen is so pretty with just that red mirri. A beautiful card Di. I must start making a few more of my own soon. x

  3. Super cute topper, Di! I used to share lots of purchases with a friend, but no longer have a stamper friend near me--sure miss it!

  4. Love the topper and card Di but the corner sentiment is what makes the card for me

  5. Both the topper and the sentiment are lovely, great buys. And splitting the pad of toppers is a great idea - I never would want to use 72 things from the same range, but 36 sounds much more doable!

  19. Love this super image and the colours so very different and look stunning. I would have to have stamped the sentiments first as I would have probably ruined the whole thing if I had done it last.
    Good bargain too.
