I used:
- 4" x 5.75" off white card blank
- piece of SU's 'Night of Navy' card stock as a backing layer, just a smidgen smaller than the card front
- a pre-stamped image I found in my 'bits box', it's SU's 'Sail Away' boat, and a real favourite of mine. Not sure which ink pad was used to stamp the image, but I die cut it using a die from the Tonic Studio's 'Circle Layering' dies set. Then ran a ball tipped tool around the edge before removing it from the die to add definition
- glued the image in place
- added a silver sentiment banner bought eons ago from Lakeland Ltd
Ran out to post box and then breathed a HUGE sigh of relief!

Looks like a perfect guy card to me, Di! Lovely image!
ReplyDeleteA very quick peek at your latest creation as trying to get ahead of the workmen and no internet today and lots of prep for doing C&C as a mad rush again.

I know that feeling well Di...when you are not happy with a card...but we forget that others see things differently to us perfectionists! I think it is a lovely male card and I bet the recipient appreciated it far more than a bought one!xx
ReplyDeleteWell I think you SHOULD be proud of it - I like it because it IS simple - so hard to find a card for men if you don't want a funny one or one with a pint of beer or a football on it. This one is great! x
ReplyDeleteHi Di, this is wonderful and just the right card for a man!

Now, see, you shouldn't say that because that's prezackly the sort of simple, clean, and (hopefully) fantastic card style that I put out! I know you didn't mean to make me feel bad, so take it back and admit that this is one very striking, CASlicous, and fantastic card which your recipient will love!! Mwah! Enjoy your day wherever you are!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteCAS is always perfect for a guy, and so is that image with its nice sketchy quality. I think the card is a winner.

Thank you for your comment on my wedding card and box, but sadly can't enter the said challenge as I use and electronic cutting machine, and have done for 3 years now.

You remembered someone's birthday and on time enough to get it to them by the day, that's a win-win no matter how you slice it. The fact that you got a simple but great card out the deal should be celebrated!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with this card Di. Clean and simple wins the day, and I have that stamp and used it many times. It seems to be a 'go to' for a man's card! Lynn
ReplyDeleteNot every card need to be over the top - its pretty! And certainly will make the recipient happy!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with simple, you still made the effort, .and even added a bit with the pen around the die , which I wouldn't have thought of! Xxx
