- 6" x 6" square white card blank
- backing paper from a We R Memory Keepers paper stack called 'Travel Light', free with Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine ages ago
- the plain card all came from the snippets folder and first I cut a yellow band to go right across the card, backed with a deep plum colour
- the large star(s) were die cut from deep plum and green snippets using MFT Die-namics 'Stars' set
- the white numbers are from my lovely pal Sarn who keeps me supplied with 'Olivia' font die cut numbers (thankfully!)
- the word 'Hooray' was die cut with a die from Penny Black's 'Hooray' set, in green and deep plum and then layered slightly offset to give a shadow effect. The good old 'Stick-it' adhesive sheets came in handy too
- three little green stars, cut with the smallest die from the stars set
The colours are much stronger in real life, needless to say :)

ReplyDeleteA great card for a teenager Di. I must admist I find cards for children of any age difficult, and haven't got any thirteen year olds to send to at the moment. It is difficult to strike the right balance between too kiddy and too adult, but this card does it excellently. x

This card looks just right for the occasion - men often prove difficult to make for and that age group especially so. I'm sure it will be popular.

I have heard of them but never seen them before too and great message on the captcha catching us out have worked this out as found it happened whenever wasn't logged in and have settings to clear cookies every time I shut down too :D Shaz in Oz.x

ReplyDeleteDi, this is Perfick for one of those difficult teens! (Difficult to make a card for and difficult in real life! Honestly, people talk about the 'Terrible Twos' but the 'Terrible Teens' are worse!!! You can't pick up a Teen and carry him off to his cot for a calming lie-down!!!)

I have a bunch of lovely grandsons so you would think I would be well practiced by now but, no, I still find it a trial thinking up suitable designs.
