Twiggy star

The current challenge over at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge is 'reach for the stars'. Instead of going down the route of traditional stars in the sky I opted to upcycle a tall and thin Christmas card from 2013:
I used:

- SU's 'Smoky Slate' card stock to make an A6 sized card

- the upcycled card front, just trimmed down to suit the A6 card blank - I actually cut a smaller twiggy heart from the bottom of the card - mounted onto a piece of red glitter card  (bargain pack from Hobbycraft)

- the image was already tickled with red sparkle (hence my choice of the red glitter backing card) so all I added was a few clear sparkly gems here and there

And as always, this card is also for Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where it's always 'Anything goes'.

Tell you what, that red glitter card sheds like crazy - no wonder it was cheap!

  1. Glitter, glitter, glitter.... I love the look of them but I can't stand them when you have them everywhere! ^_^
It's good to upcycle cards! Love those red glitters! Hope they are not floating everywhere in the playground! Hee hee!

  2. I love this star and all the sparkle! My butterfly flew in today! That was quick! He's already been stamped. Now to get him on a card! Thanks so much and for the delightful card too. She's sitting here on my desk making me smile every time I look up! Grateful hugs...

  3. I really like this star wreath with all the dangling, sparkling ornaments! Glitter looks pretty on cards, but what a mess to work with it! I'm peeling it off my face for a week afterward! LOL

  19. The twiggy star is fab...made all the better by that lovely glitter paper. I get so itchy after I use glitter paper...it seems to all shed, on sale or not!

    Wonderful upcycled card!
