Die cut donations

When Sarn, Debs, Sam and I met up the other week, Sarn had thoughtfully die cut some shapes for us - using her new dies that we'd been admiring online. Yesterday I squeezed in found time to play with a couple of them:

I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card blank

- patterned backing paper from Wild Rose Studio's 'Always and Forever' paper pack

- plain white card panel

- Memory Box 'Glorious Gerber' die cut - it was white so I coloured it using a TH 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Marker and once it was stuck onto the white panel the petals were coloured in using a TH 'Picked Raspberry' Distress Marker and 'Mustard Seed' for the flower centres. I then tickled over the colouring in using Clear 'Wink of Stella'

- the sentiment was another die cut from Sarn, it's from the Penny Black 'Hooray' set, coloured using TH 'Picked Raspberry' with just a little yellow/gold coloured gem as the dot above the letter i

Thanks again honey - I did have fun using these die cuts :)

My plan for this morning is to sit here with a cup of coffee and catch up with the Playground, before doing anything else!

  1. Lovely die-cuts. You are so lucky to be close enough to share times with your crafting friends. I haven't seen the gerbera in use before. All the daisy type flowers appeal to me. I used to get really upset as a child, when dad mowed them off with the lawn! I love the way you have matched your inks to the backing paper. Kate x

  8. Ohhhh, what a beautiful card...love that die! I have not seen that one before. I am in MB withdrawal as my scrapbook store has had the MB on sale for 40% off but they don't take telephone orders for sale items not online sales. Of course we are at the lake.
Then they had 40% off a line of your choice...usually I pick Tim Holtz or Stampers Annon, Ranger, etc. Of course same problem.
They only do that sale about 3 times a year so Drat and double drat!!!

Little iss C has learned to ride a bike without training wheels. She is about 18 months later than her friends but took a tumble 2 years ago and had to get stitches beside her eye so got frightened off.

We just hadthem for a week and she learned just before arriving here and biked everywhere.

Little Mr P is trying valiantly to get his off and is almost ready.

Quick funny overheard while they were trying to fall asleep..." Miss Cxxxxx, when I grow up and get married, I am going to buy a house really close to you so I can come and visit you every day!"
    hahahahaha so sweet!

    Great card Di!

  10. Gorgeous card Di, love the colours and the background papers are lush.
I have this die and it really works lovely if you use a circle die and just cut around the flowers and a bit of the stems and the cut it out again in a different colour and have a few hours to spare while you glue the cut outs into pre-cut image, well if you follow that you are a better woman than I am Gunger Din.

  18. Thank you for sending this link to me! I appreciate seeing your process. The amazing thing to me abt this card is that the die-cuts are so thin and delicate that I really did mistake them for some lavish embossing!!! Coloring over them with the markers gives a kind of stamped look. The diecuts are raised enough that I knew there was something more than embossing, but low enough that I wondered if it could be just embossing. It's a very lovely card and I thank you for it!!
