Christmas card for a child

..... or a grown-up for that matter :) I think Forever Friends bears are suitable for either so when I spotted Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge theme for this week is 'For a Child' I whipped a card out of the 'upcycling' box and this is the end result:
I used:

- 7" x 5" white card blank

- the front of a 6" square Christmas card sent to us in 2013, just trimmed to shape by using a Spellbinders Labels 8 die, even the sentiment was included within the die outline - easy peasy

- SU's 'Real Red' card stock to add backing to the patterned card - which is Kanban's 'Festive Holly - Blue' - I liked that it's pale blue as is the image upper background, plus the holly leaves aren't dissimilar to the one on the sentiment

- the image was then layered onto a surround cut using SU's 'Real Red' and a Spellbinders 'Labels 8 Decorative die'

Again, used the new Spellbinders Tool 'n One gadget to remove the little pieces of waste card from the decorative die - becoming one of my favourite little helpers.

And this is also for Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra for June of course.

  5. Me again...thanks for the flourish tips. That is what I try to do but even then, sometimes I tangle the top portion before I adhere it. The dreaded flourish is a great name.

The consumables freeze I am on is stretching me a bit to use up the things I usually avoid. Even going to start trying the little teensy flourishes...perfect for butterfly trails...but so old that they are hard to get off the backing! lol
