In the spotlight - Less is More

It's ages since I made a card using the 'spotlight' technique. Then I saw that the current Less is More Challenge is 'colours, either three shades of the same colour or three different colours'. And, right in front of me on my desk was a lovely stamp sent to me by a very sweet friend K - thank you so much again! It was just smiling at me and waiting for its first inking:

I used:

- 5" x 5" square white card blank

- the stamp is made by Hobby Art - called 'Poppies'. Stamped straight onto the card using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and also onto a snippet of the same white card stock. The snippet bit was partly coloured with three Whispers pens, red, green and light brown before being die cut with a round Nesties die then popped on top of the card

- sentiment is LOTV, 'Small Greetings - General', stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black'

I do so love this stamp, fully or partly coloured!

  1. Cool technique! Gives such a pretty look! Love that you pickedred for your pop of color...this was the perfect stamp.
Just got back from the church. Brunch at daughters at 11, then off to the church to get a seat at 12:40...and then sat in that seat till 2pm when the service started. Whew! Little Miss C looked so pretty!

  3. There are so many techniques around that some do get forgotten now and again so it is good to be reminded. Love this stamp which you've used to great effect here.

  7. Hi Di,

Oh, your comment made me cry. I think I was running on adrenalin and all the excitement of meeting you and Len. Although I do have some good days and spending time with both of you definitely are at the top of my list!!

This card is lovely. I can see why the stamp is a favorite. And how timely that it was staring at you when you read about the challenge!

    Hugs,
    Kay
