LOTV Angel with Doves

Aw, I do love this little angel:
I used:

- A6 white card blank

- sweet angel image from LOTV's pre-coloured Art Pad called 'Nativity Play', die cut using a Nesties 18 die with the little trick of keeping part of the image outside of the die cut. Just a tickle of 'Glamour Dust' added to the angel's wings and some of the stars

- sentiment stamped directly onto the image using a sentiment from Personal Impressions' 'Many Greetings' set and SU's Smoky Slate' ink pad

- SU's 'Smoky Slate' card stock as a border, topped with paper from Fizzy Moon's 'Festive Fun' paper pad

And for good measure, I made three exactly the same :)

Wahoo, and this week's theme over at Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge is to use a die cut or punched shape - I think this qualifies, no?

And am also entering into  Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra where it's always anything goes.

This morning I'll be doing the weekly Snippets Playground write-up ready for tomorrow. I know that most of you have the Playground keys now - but Parsnip is on sentry duty from 11am until midnight when the Playground re-opens. Bwahaha, I now have visions of him marching like a true sentry to and fro in a bearskin - being a bear that isn't too hard a call. He doesn't bite but he's likely to snitch if anyone tries to sneak in :)

  1. So pretty - I love that technique of 'outside the square' or in your case 'shape! It is so effective

  4. Angel cards are always the loveliest! I just sneaked in with a card, hope that's okay. Parsnip and Gunther hit it off immediately!

Sorry I've not been around this week. I've enjoyed playing catch up the last hour. The monitor died on our computer and the new one was finally delivered today. I am worthless on the laptop, sadly, and had all I could do to get my posts done. I now have tons of visits to catch up on ...

Enjoy the weekend! I hope the rains have stopped! We are praising the heavens that we are finally getting some here! Hugs, Darnell

  10. That is so pretty. I bought some of that set of stamps last year, but I didn't use them this year. perhaps it's time to give them another inking. I love your colour choice. No surprise that used pink though. Kate x

  14. What a lovely card. I've never seen a LOTV paper pad in person but what I've seen of them they look like a lot of fun. That was a neat idea to keep her flowing robes out of the die cut so you could let them flow.

  18. Wonderful image and you have made a really beautiful card or three with it.
Tad late tonight as I have just been to Mrs A's blog and seen the new challenge, taken me a good half hour to get over it.

  19. This is such a sweet topper and I love the image being partly outside the die...looks wonderful!
Forgot to mention that I think you should keep the waxed paper bits for another draw as I can get waxed paper so reasonably here and I know a British or European crafter would have a harder time to source it.

  20. This is such a cute image and works so well over hanging the die topper like that and love the added glitter and the nice soft colour background suits it perfectly. A great idea to get ahead with next year's cards, I must follow your good example Di. x
