Less is More - Sketch Time

One way to 'kick start' the old mojo is to follow a sketch - so when I spotted that it was Sketch Time over at Less is More I had a quick play:
 And here's the sketch:

I used:

- 7" x 5" white tent style card

- snippets of pink and white card

- the heart was die cut using a Memory Box 'Serafina Heart' die (a present from Mo last year) in white card and a matching Memory Box 'Cupid Heat' in pink for the backing

- a strip of pink card, topped with a strip of white card which has embossed lines top and bottom, used the Hougie board for those

- sentiment used a stray SU stamp (pre-loved I think) and VersaMagic 'Pink Petunia' ink pad

BTW, the card isn't barrel shaped - the light here yesterday was almost non-existent so I took this lying flat on the desk - snigger, the card silly, not ME :))

I really enjoyed making this CAS card and will be looking out for more sketches for inspiration - as well as a light box/tent at this rate.

  1. Oh that is DIVINE Di. LOVE it.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  2. This is fabulous!! Love the pink and white together, very classy! Hugs Juls

  3. Classic, elegant and fab - and not barrel shaped either!!! You are sooooo right about the light too.

I took one flat on the desk too and it looked like I'd attached the image panel off centre - grrr

    Bring back the sunshine!

  5. ah so speshul that is... an pink fav colour too... love it! Shaz in Oz. xxx

  17. LOL! SO the card was lying flat on the desk, not you. Good to know. I'd be worried if you had taken to lying around on your desk. That's not at all safe, one good roll and off you go! Sweet card. I'd seen that die before and wondered what its purpose was. I mean I know it is a heart but it seemed kind of odd. Now that I see it has a matching backing I can like it much better now. Great quick card, and yes! Sketches rock the creativity!!!!

  18. Absolutely stunning! I love every detail LIM, creation x

  19. Beautiful card Di. The CAS design is fab and that heart is stunning. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  20. Sensational!!! So very lovely and that heart is stunning.

  21. Oh, Di, I love this in pink! Your take on the sketch is the BEST!! Hugs, Darnell

  22. This is so pretty. Glad you were able to use...I hope it wasn't another one where I gave you a die that forced you to go out and buy the backing. My store does not always sell the sets and I never buy them I never know if they are two parts or not!!! lol
    Gorgeous card.

  23. This is pretty, I love the heart. You've set me thinking you could layer any die over a heart and then cut off the excess to achieve a similar effect........
