Wishes for kisses

I do love this Penny Black stamp, unused since October 2011 :(

I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card blank

- stamped Penny Black image called 'Wishes for kisses', coloured with a mix of Pro Markers and Polychromos pencils - blended using Sansodor mineral blending solution and Derwent blending stumps. A little tip, if you use Sansodor, and it does make such a difference to both Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils, pop a small piece of sponge into a teeny little screw top jar (I used one that had contained embossing powder after cleaning it thoroughly) then just add a small amount of the blending fluid. I just snipped a small piece of makeup sponge to fit the bottom of the jar. That way you just dab the blending stump onto the sponge and don't soak your stump and then the image when blending

- patterned backing paper is by Magnolia called Lingonberry Christmas 'Sweet Christmas Dreams'. Hands up who likes Lingonberry preserve from Ikea - I love it! Not too sweet and sickly - just like a taste of fresh forest fruit

- dark green snippet, die cut using a Nesties 'Floral Oval' die, red snippet hand cut after drawing round a plain oval and then the image die cut with the same oval

- sentiment is by Craftwork Cards, layered onto a SU punched circle - another red snippet

- a tickle of 'Icicle' Stickles on the 'ground' plus a little dot of 'White Opal' Liquid Pearls. for the mistletoe berry

- white Josy Rose nail heads

Still battling on here, in a lot of pain a bit of discomfort (sob, sniff) so am trying to comment on the Playground as entries come in - but might be a day or two or even more behind! Now to make a couple of personalised family Christmas cards - always tricky ones to do :( sigh.

  9. Di, thanks for visiitng me at WOYWW, yes that space does look a bit alarming. I'll come and do your anytime, it is always easier to do someone elses anyway, but Hampshire is rather a long way from North Wales, we were in Barton on Sea last week so I know how far.
Love you hedgehog, they look so cuddly somehow and yet clearly not.
    Blessings

  10. Another beautiful card Di, shame on you having unused stamps, I don't have any, no sirreee not one! Yeah, and if you believe that...!

Thank you for the beautiful card that arrived yesterday. Andrew asked if Parsnip was your dog, and I had to explain... I hadn't got 10 seconds into it before he held up his hand and said he'd heard enough, lol!!

Sorry to read you're still in pain, less of the pogo-ing around in the Playground might help you know. Really hope you feel better soon.

    Hugs
    Brenda

  11. Now then Mrs Pixie! You are not to worry about commenting on my Playground entries. I am so sorry to hear you are still in pain Di - can you get anything from your GP to help with the pain?
I've a couple more cards left to make too - why is it that I always leave the hard ones to make last - too much procrastination! Beautiful card, love the stamp - I've still got loads I've not used yet - just can't help it when I fall in love with the designs!
Take care of you huni. Big gentle hugs xx

  13. Very cute. Another lovely card.
I have to confess I bought lingonberry preserves from our Ikea out here, and I was very disappointed. I didn't think it had much flavour!

  16. This is such a sweet image! Glad you pulled it out for some love! I like the tip about the sponge in the jar. I haven't used my Prismacolors for a long time, but I can see the benefit of doing it this way. I'm all excited about my coming package. A Christmas present I know I'll love!

  19. That is a very sweet image and I love how you've displayed it on your card, Di! Not using it for two years makes it seem brand new again!

My little friend, I am so sorry that this back pain is lingering forflippingever. I wish there was something I could do. I'll say again if you need a break from the Playground, we will all completely understand. We want you over this episode!! Gentle hugs, Darnell

  21. Oh Di, so sorry you are feeling poorly, it's never a good time, but this is the worst time to be slowed down by pain. Time to put family first...we will all be playing nicely on the playground and we will take good care of Parsnip. Love your card and I had to giggle when you dated the last time you visited your cute little stamp. I have several that need visiting. A goal for 2014maybe!

  22. Sigh, I read the angel post before this, as I given a quick glimpse of this hedgie ...sorry to hear the back is still bothering you. Don't worry about commenting at the Playground. Everyone knows you have a pain problem, and that is much more important that you rest your back. It's called LIFE! I do hope you can rest up and improve and get some relief. Thank you for all that you do for us in the Pixieland. You know I love my hedgies, and this one has another love...a sweet little bird. Oh you colored them fabulously, and good tip on the blending stuff. In the USA we call it Gamsol, but odorless Turpenoid works fine too. (I still do it with good ventilation.) This is a nifty technique and one I need to remember to do occasionally. Worked a treat on this lovely card. TFS, Big Hugs - gentle ones - and Merry Christmas, Miss Pixie! So happy I found the playground through Miss Bernie. Gosh I miss hearing from her, and hope things are ok.

Love this PB Hedgehog and bird, and the lovely rich red and green you have used with it. I have been so busy I have only just put my card up this week. Like Bonnie I too am looking forward to the parcel arriving. x
