Having packed most of my 'non-Christmas' cards ready to post off to Rach to raise money for the RNLI - Dumbo here suddenly realised I only had a handful of cards left, and those were Birthday ones or already earmarked. Quick action required for some 'general'but still important cards and first of all I made these two little cuties:
Good ole Stampin' Up to the rescue!
I used:
- 3.75" x 3.75" square white card blanks
- stamps from SU's 'For the Birds' set, coloured with Whispers pens - which don't 'bleed' at all so there's no need to worry about layering or possibly backing the inside of the card
Whoosh, super fast but such a lovely stamp set.
Today I'll be writing up the Playground as usual ready for tomorrow - but it's gonna be a VERY tough one as there are soooooo many fabulous snippets makes from you all this week. I really don't know where to begin - help!!

Adorable CAS cards Di. Always great to have a few on hand "just in case" :) Loll xx
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm a sucker for birds! These 2 cuties were no exceptions. I especially liked the 1st one's sentiment, but both are adorable. Don't envy you the Snippets roll call..you have a tough task with some of those super lovelies. Good luck. I'm sure you will pick wisely! TFS & Hugs.

Great colouring on these sweet bird themed cards. I love the first one..that image just calls out to me! I liked that sentment too!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute, have to admit to building up my collection of SU stamp sets x
ReplyDeleteHi Di,
ReplyDeletelovely cards - I have just bought this set from SU- we have good taste!
On the subject of pens bleeding I was watching Create & Craft the other day and they said if you put a cheap piece of paper underneath your card it will absorb ink that would normally bleed over the edges. I haven't tried this but thought that it might work for you. Hope it helps.
Sorry I didn't make the playground this week but I will write 100 lines of 'must try harder' and be back next week. Hope you have a lovely weekend. xx
two super cards and love the sentiments, good for any occasion

Cute little cards Di. I'd suggest pulling manes out of the hat to pick for the playground now cos I agree with you that it's really impossible to choose.

These are just lovely, Di. The little bird images are cute. Glad it's you and not me that has to choose cards for the showcase ... every one is a winner :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx

I like these a lot. I have a 'thing' for bird stamps and always want to add to my collection. Will have a look in SU catalogue to see if they are still available.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Playground Miss - we have some lovely and talented new playmates - it's such a fab place lol! Off to try and get some Xmas cards made Karen x
Oh my goodness...I am such a lucky girl....thank you so, so much as I just loved her image!!!
ReplyDeleteI bought 4 or 5 magazines when I was in England. I was lucky enough to find a shop that did not throw out the old versions...they had them all going back several months so I was able to chose the ones with the nicest gifts.
Once the RV is closed up for the winter, then I will be cracking on to open some of them and of course, my new Wild Rose Studio stamps. I have some fab ideas for the fancy cards you gave me too.
I have been trying lately to use up some really old schtuff as of late...but I am getting kind of tired of that...Time to switch to some fun, new things!!!
I still have 2 boxes sorted of my mermaid/water/fishing themed cards and decided to leavethem packed and use them for taking to crops. They are full of paper, ribbon, embellies, cardstock, and finished images all ready to make up into cards...perfect to grab and go!
Thank you so, so much...I will start haunting the mail box once we get home next week. Pouring rain here today and predicted to continue for a few days so we may go home Monday.
I have a fellow arriving for the self catered accomodation so will have to spend a couple days cleaning and organizing everything for him. It is always empty all summer as there are no courses running in the summer. (Remember that fact if you ever plan a trip to Canada...empty self contained suite at mine...and DH is much friendlier on his own turf!!!
He loves to drive visitors about to go sightseeing on our turf. In England he was so worried about having an accident on the narrow roads and as it turns out...he did!
He scraped the rent a car quite badly...right down to the metal on the bumper and the side panel. Luckily the rent a car fellow that he showed it to was a fisherman also and had lots of questions about fishing in Canada...DH was quite friendly and they had about a 30 min conversation about what he had caught in Englandand where...what types of bait etc and then when he finally looked at it he told us the damage was permitted at no charge...Lucky DH was friendly to him!!! Whew!!!
What fabulous little biridie, great images both inside and out. Brilliant sentiment. Love the card.

Love these adorable CASlicious snippets cards, Di!
ReplyDeleteI first read your snippets playground post as I came in the front door and I thank you so much again for all the time and effort you spend doing this. I think (?) it is still easier than when you personally commented and linked EACH card, but now that we have grown so much to 54(!) entries, well, making the choices of which ones to showcase has to be pure torment! You are an angel, that's all there is to it!
I also enjoyed catching up on the posts I missed while I was away. Have I asked you about putting a "subscribe by email" button on your side bar? Sometimes I get behind on the blog roll via "follow," and find it's easier to stay up-to-date when I can subscribe so the posts go directly into my inbox - can't miss 'em that way. I'd love it if you could do that!
Okay, I'd better not hog the comment space! Big hugs and xxx, Darnell
Stampin' Up to the rescue! Woot! Love what you've done for quick and easy, very sweet.
