This really has to be one of my best ever bargain stamps - although I didn't realise it at the time. Bought when out with Jan and Julia it cost me £2, reduced from £4. I've since seen it on the internet in a well known online craft shop that I visit a lot - for £5.49! Oooer, me loves a bargain :)
I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card stock
- image stamped onto a snippet of the same card stock (there are sooo many different shades of white I find) and coloured with Pro Markers, with a tickle of Glossy Accents added to the grapes. The cling stamp is by Stampendous and is called 'Grape Scene' by the way - almost forgot to add that
- a snippet of plum, or aubergine, card - left over from when I made a load of wedding invitations
- sentiment is by LOTV from their 'Small Greetings' set - stamped using SU's 'Perfect Plum'
Wouldn't the stamp be great on a gift tag, or one of those 'slip over the neck of a bottle tags' that have a big round hole punched in the top - perfect finishing touch to a gift of a really decent bottle of red wine.
And so to the Playground - well, it's been a soggy old week, with Sam even shouting for me to light the 'brazier' as it was cold out there. That led to some ribald remarks about bra-burning needless to say!
Every single make and use of snippets this week was wonderful, but although I truly could keep on writing this we'd be into the realms of
how the roll call used to be, and also the length of time it took - so,
please do look at the links (the thumbnails help) in last week's
Playground Mr Linky here.
However, we have a new playmate this week - Hi there Juls! OMGosh girls, trust me - if you haven't seen this yet then prepare to be blown away - I sure was:
Next it's the draw for the lovely Memory Box dies, kindly donated by Maureen (aka ScrappyMo). And the winner is:
I used the Random number generator, for all of you who hadn't said 'No thanks' to the chance, but would love someone to tell me how to display the result on this posting properly!
Edit: being awkward, I use Ubuntu and not Windows here :)
Well done Lynn, could you drop me an email with your snail mail address and I'll pop the dies into the post for you.
And, there's a chance to win a stamp this week girls. Now, I know we all have different styles so this won't appeal to everyone - I have to be honest and say I for one probably wouldn't use it but it just 'fell' into my online basket this week when I was buying something entirely different (in the sales, so don't fret) 'cos I do know that some of you would like the chance to win it - it's a generous 3" x 4.5" by the way:
So, if you want to join in the Playground fun and frolics and be in with a chance of winning this stamp - the Playground is open all of this coming week but it will close on Saturday 19th January at noon, UK time and Mr Linky is below as usual. Just enter a snippets make into the Playground this week and I'll do a draw after the Playground closes next Saturday. But, I am asking for a snippets make please, maximum of three entries and please say 'No thank you' in a comment if you DON'T want to be entered. You can of course enter as many snippets makes as you like but only a maximum of three goes will be counted.
The lovely Kath has sent something for a future Snippets draw too - thank you chick!
And finally, I know loads of you hopped over to add your support to Bernie - she's written a little follow up post which you may like to see. Keep blowing a breeze under her wings girls!

Love your card Di and what a bargain you got with the stamp.
ReplyDeleteBusy doing wedding stationery atm but hope to find some time to play soon.
If you have Windows 7 there is a Snipping Tool(found in accessories) which you can use to cut out a snapshot of the Random thingy if you want to show the result. HTH!

I do like the Clarice Cliff look. Hugs Mrs A.

ReplyDeleteWe all love a good bargain don't we? This is a fab bargain. I like the card you've made with the stamp but I agree it would be fab on a bottle tag . . . or how about an ATC?
ReplyDeleteHAPPY SUNDAY xxx
Love the stamp - and the card - love a bargain too. The snippet card I've just added was done last night, so don't count it towards the three for the stamp - and, yes, I would love to win it. x
ReplyDeleteSmashing card, Di. I love that scene - reminds me of a blissful holiday in the Tuscany hills :) And that stamp was a bargain. As much as I admire work done using stamps in the PaperArtsy style, this is not for me - so it's a 'no thanks' from me. It's a great stamp though so good luck to everyone who would like it. Juls tree is absolutely fabulous - love those owls, and I bet her daughter is dead chuffed with it too :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteThe only way to copy the random thing is to take a screen shot and then crop it in a photo editing programme. What happens if you press control + P do you get the option to save as a PDF? Carol x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Di. Tuscany sunshine, definitely. I've managed to get back to the playground, and I'm not burning any underwear, especially if I'm going on the see saw!
ReplyDeleteLovely scene Di, reminds me of when we went to Northern California and all the vineyards a few years ago, hic! I don't have a snippet make yet, but hope to be back within the week with one, but I'll say No Thanks for the stamp, like you said, not to everyone's style! The only time I did a Random Org thingy I just took a screen shot and then edited in a graphics program and saved it as a jpg, which is what others have said.

I love the stamp you've used, it takes you straight to summertime, and I agree it would be perfect as a tag! :)x
ReplyDeleteLove that card Di. That is kinda like Clarice Cliff. As for that Paperartsy stamp, I shall be round later with the boys to take it off your 'ands!
ReplyDeleteLove those owls by Glitter Chick so will call round later when I am downstairs in front of a nice fire!

Love your snippets make - gosh you got that stamp for a bargain price! Dreaming of summer days now :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a no thanks from me for the stamp as I have already been lucky enough to win something from generous you!
That's definitely a top bargain, Di, what a pretty and versatile stamp! I love your CAS card, so chic! Also - wowzer, isn't Juls's wall decoration amazing?!
ReplyDeleteSorry, hun, I can't seem to get my picture on Mr Linky (not a techie here!)
Have an excellent week and stay warm!

Hello Di,
ReplyDeleteI have that stamp! The one you got for such a great bargain. But mine doesn't have the grapes - did you add those? I'll have to do some digging to see perhaps it's not exactly the same stamp.
Been doing a bit of playing around with my paper this weekend. I bought some glimmer mist at Hobby Lobby on Friday - I hope it adds something special to my cards. We'll see.
Have fun in the Playground!
Hugs,
Kay
What a sweet image and a bargain to boot! That would make my day! No thanks to the stamp but thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful. Such fabulous coloring. I love finding a good bargain! Happy to be visiting the playground for the first time. Ann Y.
ReplyDeleteDarn! I goofed and my link is to my blog and not my post. I can't figure out how to delete the link and start over. Sorry for the goof! Ann
ReplyDeleteLove your card! fab bargain too!! and thank you so much for your kind mention to my snippet nursery!
ReplyDeleteHugs Juls
Thanks for your visit tonight. It is good to know I am not the only sleepless soul right now. We are holding our breath about the weather when we get up. Sorry I did not get to the playground again today, but that is a lovely card. xx Maggie
ReplyDeleteGreat card...makes me think of the Little winemaker! You're right, it would be fabulous on a bottle neck. LOVE it that you got a bargain with the stamp buy too. Don't we all just love a good deal???Congrats to Linby on her win too. Can't wait to see the lovely projects she will make with these dies. Hugs & as always, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOops. Forgot to say No Thankyou for the stamp. hugs Mrx A.
ReplyDeleteFirst...hello Juls. I'm heading over to see what Glitter Chick has been up too. Di had me at Glitter! Yes Di, I think you scored on your rubber stamp. And yes, lots of ways to use it. It would be a perfect gift tag! I'm going to do a bit of snooping to see what everyone's been up to....until next time....Happy Crafting.
ReplyDeleteWell I thought I had left a comment via my phone! But I don't see it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the win - how lovely.
I've emailed you.
Linbyx
That's a nifty small image and you've turned it into an elegant CASlicious card, Di!
ReplyDeleteNo thanks on the stamp, but thanks for the head's up on Bernie's f/u. I'm heading over there.
If you look carefully Miss you might spot yours too!

I THINK I've managed to link properly Di ... thanks SO much for all your help. Please do stand me in the corner of the playground in the Dunce's Hat if I've messed it up. Love Debbie xXx
ReplyDeleteHello Di, just added another card, well, two actually, that include some snippets in the making. Still no discernible reduction in the snippet mountain despite all my efforts ... will just have to do better :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're a good bargain hunter, and what a great find on the stamp!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your generosity on the giveaway, but I'll say no thanks as this stamp simply isn't my style! I'd rather someone else make good use of it!
Hi Playmates
ReplyDeleteA bit late but here at last.
Hope everyone is OK.
We might have some spare snow going free at our end if the weather forecast is correct. Thought I might bring some over to the playground if anyone fancies a snowball fight .. .. or if "Miss" is looking we could be boring and just build a snowman!!
Love Jules xx
Yes there is something a touch Clarice Cliff about this Di and it's just beautiful - and a bargain too and you can't say fairer than that! Oops, sorry if I've broken the Mr Linky... Vicky x
ReplyDeleteHello Di, another card using snippets this week - I'm doing well. And I dragged out the sewing machine from hell, and actually managed a straight row of stitching - a first for me :) Hope you are keeping cosy and not suffering too much snow. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteSneaking one in before you shut the gates Miss!
ReplyDeletexx
