A New Year's Day birthday

One of my school friends from boarding school imprisonment days has her birthday on 1st January. So it's a double celebration and this is the card I sent:
I used:

- 6" x 6" square white card stock

- backing paper from Prima's 'Firefly' collection

- a LOTV Cute Square, chopped down a bit - which was pre-coloured I hasten to add

- toning mauve card, punched using a new MS PATP set called 'Cherish' then run through the Cuttlebug and embossed using a 'Swiss Dots' folder

- guipure lace and mauve organza ribbon, plus layered flowers

- sentiment by Craftwork cards, layered onto a SU punched shape using the 'Decorative Label' punch

Happy Birthday Angie, and a Happy 2013 to you all.

Di

  2. Happy Birthday Angie!!!! Was she the first baby of the year where she lived? For some reason that info always makes the news. Very pretty celebratory card! Does it cost extra to send square cards? Or do you just stick them in regular shaped envelopes?

  3. Happy New Year my friend. Hugs Mrs A.
Did you have any fireworks? We went outside the front at 12 and a few of the neighbours across the stream let off a few.

  13. Gorgeous card Di! Love the colours.

I always wanted to go to boarding school, probably because I read too much Enid Blyton and thought it would be like that. Maybe I just liked the idea of packing a trunk to take with me, filled with chocolate, ginger beer and hockey sticks, lol!
