Par Avion

Or, Air Mail :) And that's hopefully us later today - flying back to the UK. I made this little Christmas card just before we left home:
I used:

- 4.75" x 4.75" square white card stock

- Penny Black's 'Par Avion' stamp, coloured with Pro Markers and then cut with a Sizzix die

- holly backing paper from the snippets folder

- sentiment by Craftwork Cards, layered onto an oval snippet of red card

- little piece of red ribbon from the ribbon box

A really quick offering today. The sun is shining brightly, we've just been for a long walk and 'the barman' is offering me a glass of wine here :) All is well with the world once again!

While we were out I took a few piccies:

This one is looking back across the Marina from the harbour wall - snort, to prove there's actually a blue and almost cloudless sky here right now :) The waves were lashing right over the harbour walls the other day so to go for a stroll round there today was a treat.
And, we also came across this little cutie - I didn't dare get too close as they're very shy little feral cats here and run away at the drop of a hat. In fact, he/she was there for well over an hour just dozing and soaking up the sunshine, curled up in a net from one of the trawlers. It obviously knows where it's well off and a lot of the cats here live off the bits of fish still caught in nets when they're set out to dry.

The wanderer returns - and, like a lot of people after a holiday, it's gonna be nice sleeping in my own bed tonight :)

  3. Dun you go sitting on the park benches when you get back in the playground cos they are still drying. Also take no notice of the duck with a blue posteria. He didn't read me notice which clearly states 'Wet Paint'. I think I got most of the feathers off the bench and everywhere is spick and span (well apart from the bushes. that is. The spray can did'nt go very far. Well it did but not on the bush!!!!
Hence nooo paint job on the benches to cover it upo like.
    Dun u worry bout nuffin.
    Hugs Mrs A.

P.s. Card is really cute but u do no its not the month with a D in it!

That photo is making me feel cold now! Have a safe flight home and hope you are not too upset when you see the mess of the Playground after a certain Fireworks party!

  8. Hi Di

A fabby Christmas card and gorgeous photographs too. Just look at that beautiful blue sky.

Just looked to the window here .. .. very grey and overcast .. .. sigh!!!

I was going to suggest that Mrs A hang some of her big bloomers around the playground to hide some of the "damaged bits" in the playground .. .. but it might be best if the subject is dropped now!

    Have a safe journey home.

    Love Jules xx

  11. I hope you had a safe and uneventful trip home and a solid sleep off in your own sweet bed, Di! The sunny picture looks a treat and well-deserved after that idiotic pipe break and resulting mop-up. One assumes you got a free stay for that cockup! (Oh. Can I say that? Doesn't sound much more lady-like than the F-bomb when you think about it.)

I've had an enjoyable hour catching up with you and with your roll call. Lord, what a turnout, eh? I'm sorry I missed all the fun and participating this week, but it did make one less paragraph for you!! Job well done and while you were away, no less. You're the best!

Thank you for your sweet good wishes. I'm back home and feeling better. I avoided surgery again and whew, that was the main thing. Yesterday I was a reed duck less Rubber Woman, but today I feel like I might venture out to the Playhouse for some much-needed card-making therapy.

All the best and hugs to boot! Darnell
