Snow scene

This week's challenge over at Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge is 'White Christmas'. I'd really done that for last weeks challenge with the 'Let it snow' card and wondered what to make now. But, a quick rummage through last years Christmas cards turned up a lovely snow scene so out came the trimmer, the ruler (lots of measuring here) and a load of Christmas stuff to have a play:
I used:

- A5 white linen card stock

- red backing card

- white 'crackled ice' card, with the border punched using a MS Aspen Snowflakes PATP set

- trimmed 'recycled' card front with the corners rounded, mounted onto more red card and then onto the snowflake edged white card - a lot of measuring here!

- white double satin ribbon, with pearlescent edging from the ribbon box (bought from Hobbycraft), plus a little snowflake charm tied with pearlescent narrow cord

- Craftwork Cards sentiment backed with red circle of card, punched using a SU round punch

- and, confession, three aurora borealis gems down the right hand edge - to hide some really marginally imprecise punching on my part, but it was annoying me. It was just a whisker out but PATP sets are very unforgiving :(

Done - and another one for the Christmas card box!

  11. Hello Di, not long home from the trip to Dumfries and Galloway and warmed up enough to fire up the computer. The card is great - there's something very satisfying about upcycling old Christmas cards. The PATP border is gorgeous. Elizabeth x

  15. Beautiful up-cycled Christmas card Di! I know what you mean about something not being right and annoying you, I've had a lot of cards end up in the trash as a result but you made a superb recovery here.
