Yikes, what a job I had to match the right hand frog to the backing card and the sentiment so I just had three greens - almost every Pro Marker in green was tried out until I found the right one!
I used:
- 6" x 6" white card stock
- green backing card from the snippets folder
- Penny Black 'Green Line' frogs stamped image, coloured with Pro Markers in 'Lime Zest', 'Moss' and 'Olive Green' - I also coloured the poor little insect in 'Tulip Yellow' - along with the frogs' eyes, I hope a touch of yellow doesn't eliminate me from the challenge :)
I did have such fun doing this card, almost as if the frog is changing colour and 'psyching' himself up! It's yet another one of those Penny Black images that do make you smile, and I like to think the insect managed to escape :)

Fab card Di, love the idea of morphing frogs lol. I have started to use my copics to colour white card when I can't find a match and that seems like a lot lately.

It looks fab Di, you could always just edge a piece of card with the same Promarker that you use to colour the image. If you use the chisel end of the marker, you can drag it along the edges of the card and hey presto ... a perfectly matching mount.
ReplyDeleteThis frog does make me smile!
Thanks so much

Great card Di. Those frogs are so cute. You have done a great job of this weeks challenge, I really struggled.
ReplyDeleteSo funny - I've used the Pro Marker trick on here just recently and totally forgot! Although, I did have the stamped sentiment's darkest green to match to as well :( Suppose I could have coloured the third frog with ink pad :)

Those frogs are so cute Di. I must remember the tip about edging card. I've faced the same problem with my copic markers. I actually did my first ever less is more card this week, and i really enjoyed it. Kate x

Gorgeous! I love that stamp and in three shades of green it looks perfect! The border and sentiment look fine to me, but the solution would be more stash - perfect excuse to go shopping I think!
ReplyDeleteIt may have been difficult to match them but it was well and truly worth it - it looks great x
ReplyDeleteOh Di . . . I REALLY love this card. It is perfectly proportioned and the sentiment goes so well with the fun image.

This card brings to mind the time a huge frog came to visit our lounge one summer night, just hopped right in and made himself at home, mind you none of us were brave enough to pick him up and gently remove him so we had to guide him out with a couple of magazines and a rather loud indignant croak from him. Great card, love the sentiment. Take care, Lyn x
