If friends were flowers......

....I'd pick you. How appropriate that sentiment is - thank you to so many who hopped in here and commented on The Snippets Challenge over the past couple of days. And people are already joining in - brilliant - and so good to know that the great initiative started by Jules lives on!

So, today's card is with all of you in mind:

I have a little friend called Dee, who doesn't have her own blog as yet as she doesn't have the spare time. She regularly peeks in here but rarely comments - mostly as her peeks are done from the office and she can't linger :) We swop stash and a little while back some Prima 'Annalee' papers arrived here out of the blue from Dee. They are beautiful, but some are much too nice to chop about and cover up or detract from too much - hence the lack of an image today as I think the sentiment says it all.

I used:

- 6" x 6" square ivory linen card stock

- papers - all from the Prima 'Annalee' set (thank you again Dee!)

- Martha Stewart lacy edge punch

- pearls (by Prima) from stash

- stamped sentiment, cut using a Labels Eight Nesties die

How weird is this - there is absolutely nothing on that wood mounted sentiment to say who makes it. It's totally bare, nude, unmarked! I know I bought it years and years ago - probably from Hobbycraft before I discovered the joys and ease of online shopping :)

I think I might have mentioned this tip before - I stamped the sentiment and then, using low-tack tape fixed the die in place cutting side down onto the sentiment to position it centrally before turning it over and running it though the Cuttlebug. I then left the cut out piece of card in the die and on the back carefully ran an embossing stylus right round the inner edge of the card/die. It saves getting your embossing 'tan' mat out and works well for most dies. Some more intricate and lacy ones do benefit from using the mat - but I like a short cut if there's one to be had :)
