WOYWW - 132 But first of all............

......last week on WOYWW, before the dreaded bug got me once again, I showed how I made some 'sparklies' (snowflakes, icicles and baubles) for cards - go here to take another look. A few people asked me to show the cards I used the embellishments on, and this is one of them:
It's for a special neighbour and his wife. He's given us some of his super 'fishing catches' over the year -  OK, so I doubt if he has a little penguin with him when he goes off fishing and he most definitely doesn't dress up in girlie outfits!

I used:

- white 6" x 6" card stock

- image stamped using LOTV 'Fishing Buddies' image, coloured with Pro Markers

- pearlescent beige card from the snippets folder 

- blue background patterned 'snowflake' paper from Craftwork Cards 'Frosty Christmas' paper pack - bought at Ally Pally in the Autumn

- snowflakes and icicles made last WOYWW - the snowflakes had a blue 'moonstone' brad added to each of them, from Wild Orchid Crafts

- sentiment from Craftwork Cards - edged with a Quickie Glue Pen and then sprinkled with some 'Pixie Dust'. That's my new name for the unmarked tubs of fine Glamour Dust-like sparkles I have here - it saves having to explain every time!! :)

- more Pixie Dust on the fur, stars and snowflakes on the image

And, as to the rest of this calm and peaceful environment.........take a look at this, taken just before I scampered to bed early last night:
A total MESS while I've been writing cards - but see the Pricing In Proportion Gauge ruler thingy lying there - such a life saver and not expensive from Staples to check the thickness of your cards
A swing to the right and a shed load of stash to be put away!! And poor Norman the Bunny still waiting to be mended
Man, this is doing my head in, I can't cope with mess like this - I'm off to console myself by seeing how many other crafters are in just the same boat this week - in between trying to sort out that pickle.     That ruler was the best thing ive ever bought at the post office cheaper than posting my crimbo cards...lolJust dont get me started on the price of stamps..lol

    My desk looked like yours yesterday but all nice and tidy - for now. Won't stay that way as I'm off for another play shortly. Love the icicles, haven't got many dies, just the bog standard ovals and circle type but I can see a purchase coming on for next year.

    Ha - now that's a messy desk, lol!! But you do have an excuse if you're not feeling well... hope you pick up soon in time for Christmas. That ruler sounds like a fab idea - blimey postage has gone up....

    Beautiful little card Di, love the soft colours, blue and brown go so well together. Sorry you're still a bit under the weather, hope it passes soon. I had no idea you could get a Proportion Gauge Ruler Thingy!!! And look at that "mess"! Bet that's like finger nails down a black board to you, lol!

    Haven't visited much lately, bit chaotic here, but I;ve had a quick squizz at past posts and like the 'front and back' cards for the girls, and I've copied and printed that steak & mushroom pie recipe, sounds yum!!!

    My flat is so tiny that I end up crafting on the floor... and my floor looks just like your desk! I feel like I need an extra house just to put all my stuff in, and have the space for a decent desk to work at!

    I'm sure your neighbour will love that card, it's very cute. M x

    I popped in, and then I popped out again...reminded me,I needed stamps! Love your card, and I'm sure your neighbour will love it too, and maybe next time he goes fishing, he may well dress in a furry coat and take his pet penguin with him!
