WOYWW 126 and blog candy draw results

Happy WOYWW everyone - Christmas is galloping towards us right now so I bet there are going to be lots of very busy desks on display today - so welcome to probably the most boring one this week!

Hmm, not a lot going on here today. Just a heap of papers I've been using in the background and holiday lists in the foreground plus a little cellophane bag of bits on top! The holiday lists are waiting for me to check what I need to buy today in the way of holiday toiletries etc. for next week's little trip and the cello bag has an A6 envelope, scrap of mink pearlised paper, little bit of mink ribbon and a LOTV image in. The envelope was used when I was checking boxes whilst out yesterday to pack the next (bigger) batch of wedding stationery in - when I begin making it after Christmas - and the other bits were to do some matching at Hobbycraft.

However, more exciting things have been going on - firstly, this photo came via email from Germany yesterday. It's little Livi, being shown how to play with one of HER birthday presents, by big sister Mia:
Bless, you can almost see little Livi's fingers just itching to be let loose to play with this Playmobil set from Len and I. Apparently the never-ending card was a hit...........last we heard it was still in one piece and the 'Livi The Little Engineer' hadn't yet dismantled it. We were talking to Matt on Skype on Sunday - and in the background we could see that Livi was busy taking the TV remote control apart :)

And last, but by no means least - I've just done the draw for the Nestabilities Heart Shaped Dies. Little drum roll..............and the winner is:

Number 34 - Jenny Johnson

It drives me crazy that I can't work out how to get the Random Number results thingy onto here - and I have a little bullet thingy moving up and down the screen now but I'm hoping it won't appear on your viewing, a leftover from my attempts - but you'll have to trust me folks! I'm not sure I like doing this candy lark as it would be great if everyone could win each time :)) But, well done to Jenny - please can you send me your snail mail address: di_wray@hotmail.com and I'll get the Nesties into the post tout suit!!

Today I'm also off for a long overdue trip to the hairdressers - feeling a bit embarrassed too as my fringe would have rivalled a Dulux dog's last week, driving me mad so I took the scissors to it :( Ahem, I had to take my specs off to get at said fringe, which was not so clever. I need specs just for reading - and that also means looking at anything close-up of course :)) I wonder if Sam will notice that the fringe looks like a funfair roller coaster?

Do hop over to Julia's here to see what everyone else is up to this week - and happy WOYWW everyone!

Di

  5. Yep - me too - I often give my fringe a little snip. I can't stand a too long fringe - it gives me a headache. BTW where do you buy your A6 cello card bags from? x Jo

  7. Iknow exactly what you mean about the Dulux dog bit. I am weeks overdue for a good chop, but I am resisting the scissors so far. What a lovely picture of the children. By the way, about the sneaky peak, all I will say is that it is not the Christmas tree.

  10. I never even noticed Di!! I think most of us cut our fringes in between haircuts!! Well, no point spending more money on unnecessary frivolities such as hair trims ey when there is sooo much crafting stuff we could be spending it on!!

  12. Ha you are funny! My hairdresser got so sick of correcting my fringe that she taught me how to do it! I don't know whether to be terrified or impressed about that holiday list!

  13. A holiday list! My husband has a double sided list depending on the type of holiday, ie, camping, holiday house etc.... it's laminated would you believe and gets a lot of use, from him that is, I'm much more free form than that, but I will admit to forgetting my sleeping bag on a camping trip once! Love the little Grand babies, and yes Livi looks ready to dive in if Mia doesn't get out of the way soon!

  14. OOh - a trip - how exciting! Have fun and tell us all about it when you return, and don't sweat the fringe trim - we all do it and regret it, then do it again lol!

Have fun, and thanks for the kind words about kitty

  15. A famous engineer of the future in the making - love the fact that Livi enjoys how things work.
Laughed at the fringe chopping - I plead guilty, M'lud to the very same thing. My hairdresser is very patient with me :D

  16. So you're off on a wee trip - wee, with a list that size! Hope your hairdresser has been able to save the fringe ... had to trim mine on occasion too and it is so embarrassing :( Super cute photo of your granddaughters - Livi does look keen to get here hands on her birthday present. I don't think you are the only one to struggle with Mr Random ... seen quite a few complaints appearing on blogs. Congratulations to Jenny, I'm sure she will enjoy using the die set. Elizabeth x #59

  17. Been there, done that, I am always chopping off my fringe, well I have my hair done nearly every week and she should spot that it needs sorting, I have such fine horrid hair.
Lovely pics of your Grandaughters, she really does look as if she wants to get in there.

    Very tidy desk, very jealous.

  18. We need to see a photo of said fringe before we can pass a comment! I went to the hairdresses yesterday and it was the other extreme me saying no don't cut any off don't touch the fringe and being told now just a little bit off here won't hurt will it! I thought the customer was always supposed to be right! So where is todays big word? Hugs Mrs A.

  21. Morning Di! At least I can post photo's now and make comments and things so I am leaving learning how to mess around with getting it to look right until I have more time to experiment! I have to have stuff shut away in cupboards - my system generally works quite well until I realise I need something from the top shelf and hubby has just gone out the door! X

  22. HA ha ha,, I love the comment about the fringe! I also did the chopping of the fringe last week, then had to move my next hair appointment to 24th November to give it time to regrow...HOW embarrassing??? Lol...
Anyway... love the tidy workdesk, have spotted the LOTV design of the little boy, I also have that and will now wait to see just what you do with yours, BEFORE I do mine!! xx
