Yikes! It's almost impossible to photograph embossing and this one above is the best I could do with the light coming in sideways from a window :( It's a real
The cards are 8" x 8", embossed with dots that look a bit like snow, bought from The Range. Embossed Christmas trees were done using a folder I bought at Ally Pally to replace a Cuttlebug one that was misaligned from the word go. It's the only folder I've ever had like that so I was skipping for joy when I found this even nicer one at AP. Gems and pearls came from my stash, along with the ribbon and the backing card behind the trees (Glossy Black and Silver Mirri). Each tree was topped off with a Josy Rose silver star nail head.

Thank you so much by the way for the advice about keeping it 'simples' - noted :) !
Right, time to get ready, put my Hettie Wainthropp outfit on, then go out investigating :)) Hope you're having a fun Sunday!

I think you did a good job on the photography front. The embossed cards look FABULOUS.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could make some of your wedding stationery like this . . . with appropriate embossing folder . . . NOT Xmas trees of course! LOL!
Hugs, Sarn xx
Beautiful card, beautifully photographed. That is definitely a good folder.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards - and that Christmas tree folder's a winner. Your photography is not bad either - I spotted the embossing immediately :) Can't help you with the aubergine card. Have you tried Hunkdory - it does seem to be one of their preferred colours. Hope your Hetty Wainthropping (my long word for today) pays dividends. Elizabeth x

ReplyDeleteGirl your photography is spot on every detail of these stunning/gorgeous cards show beautifully.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried looking in your office supply shops for plain card stock in aubergine? We have one here that sells an amazing range of colors, totally different from what's avalible in craft shops.

These are really pretty

Have you tried Cardinal Colours, Di? They are usually so helpful, and if they haven't got something in stock that you need, they can try and get hold of it, or redirect you to someone who possibly will.

I think those cards are stunning just as they are... no inking and brayering!
A lovely set of cards. I really like these, and when I clicked on the photo it enlarged just fine, and all that lovely embossing showed up really well. They certainly don't need the ink and brayer. Have fun at the wedding fayre. Kate x
ReplyDeleteHi Di, your cards look just wonderful the embossing is visable and if your unsure yourself sugguest clicking on the picture and this will enlarge the image and then it will show the embossing beautifully:) Sandra H
ReplyDeleteoh Di.... Those cards are just stunning - I love them, well done. I've been after a tree embossing folder for ages but they all seem very expensive on a certain auction site! Try PDA for cardstock - if its not on the website, give them a ring, I've always found them to be most helpful - happy snoopday!
ReplyDeleteSoz - forgot to leave the link for PDA:

What beautiful cards....I get the photograph part for sure Di! I just made a baby card for my niece who has just had a baby girl. I have taken pictures but because of the shiny silver paper I used....what a time I've been having! Regardless of this nonsense...your cards are lovely and I know in person, they are spectacular!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the embossed cards, know they will look amazing in real life.
ReplyDeleteStampin Up do a cardstock Elegant eggplant looks like a match for your ribbon. I will be happy to send you a sample for matching.
