Christmas trees and bling!

A new stamp set just fell into my paws at Ally Pally on Sunday so of course I had to have a little play :) I love the sentiment in this Woodware set and can see it be used to bits in the run-up to Christmas:
I made just two cards - running out of suitably coloured really large pearls and gems to ring the changes. It was good fun exhilarating (today's big word) playing with the 'bling combinations' to make these and I'll be making more once I manage to get time to nip into HC and look at what they have. Small buttons would look good too but I don't have the right sizes and combinations of colours of those either - at the moment :)

I used:

- 7" x 5" card stock, white for the pink bling and cream for the brown bling

- Edges embossed with single lines

- Woodware Clear Magic stamp set - 'Christmas Bubble Tree' - for the tree and sentiment, stamped using Brilliance 'Pearlescent Ivy'

- Trunk of tree coloured with 'Olive' Pro Marker

- a mixture of pearls and gems - from my stash

Easy to make - and no doubt a large sized stamp to post - will I never learn?!

  2. What beautiful cards Di. Please be careful when doing your backwards flips round the garden. I don't want to feel responsible for broken bones. :-)

  5. Gorgeous cards Di. I love a bit of bling at Christmas. Last year I made a run of cards using the matching bubble wreath and baubles stamps, and they were fun to 'bling up' as well. Make them every colour of the rainbow and I bet they will all look good. Kate x

  6. What beautiful cards, Di. A very different take on Christmas cards - lovely fluid, organic designs, and great to have un-Christmassy colours for once. These are sure to stand out. I like the font used for the sentiment, too - works very well with the design. Funny how things just hop into your hands at craft shows, isn't it. If you look at my blog post on the Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts show, you'll see how much hopping things did for me in Exeter on Friday lol!!

  14. I guess it's only once a year Karen - and it would cost a lot more to drive 300+ miles to many of my friends and family :)

  15. Lovely cards Di - that tree stamp is gorgeous, just a bit different and the bling is perfect. I've used them all up now, but I did find, somewhere locally, a pack of bubble wrap envelopes in white that were ideal for posting out embellished cards - they were lightweight too so didn't push up the postage. That's it ... I'm on a mission to search and find now - will let you know if I'm successful :) Elizabeth x

  16. These are lovely Di. Funny how those things just seem to fall into our shopping baskets. I have a wonderful coupon for Michael's and a gift card. I'll be out the door in 15 minuets. Yahoo! Have an amazing weekend.
