Pixie's Snippets Playground - Challenge #346

Well, that's been a bit of a week! It was vile, however, by Wednesday evening I could at least move around unaided (slowly!) for short distances. Friday was even better - able to finally have a proper shower (yes, it hurts THAT much to even feel water spray from the shower onto a 'goaty' foot, not to mention being unable to stand for long in any case). Am still resting though as not yet out of the woods and even the thought of wearing a shoe is out of the question until everything subsides - thank goodness for 'hotel style' soft towelling mules, something I learned last time. This too will pass as they say.

OK, so that's my update - and the result of the past week is that, even though I did try sitting at the desk for a short time on Friday, just couldn't make a new snippets card showing the prize I had lined up. So had to put that one on ice for now.

However, all is not lost as a snippets card posted on here very recently came to the rescue:
The die I wanted to feature is made by MFT and is called 'Christmas Tree Window' - just perfect for batch baking too :)

The actual post goes back to 6th February and can be found HERE for more details. There are so many ways in which this great die can be used - just do a search using Google for loads of ideas.

I suspect that some of you, like me, will have run off to buy this die straight away. I (naturally, snigger) bought three extra ones for the Playground Toy Box, intending to start stocking up on goodies for the Grand Draw this coming Christmas. But you know what? It would be good to have this die NOW to make your cards for Christmas 2019 ........... and also it saves my bacon this fortnight.

So, three of these lovely dies are on offer (huge apologies to those of you who did buy your own when you saw the original post - but I do hope you'll still play along just for fun, or even play and then give the prize to a friend if you win!).
Sorry, I can't even lift the Toy Box out to take a photo of the die packet as usual, but the above MFT image combined with the sample card will give you a good idea.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 2nd March. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day.

It's a maximum of ONE entry and please say in a comment if you wish to play and be a possible winner of the prize. Please also link back to the Playground in your blog post to be eligible for the draw.

Remember, if you link into the Playground and don't say clearly that you're wanting to be in the draw in a comment on here, then you will be bypassed if your name comes out of Mr Linky. I'm sure you all know I ask for a positive 'yes' on the blog post itself- just in case you're playing only for fun - otherwise I ignore you on my little list.

Mr Linky is below - please let me know if you have any problems linking, it's easy for me to sort out so don't struggle on alone ☺

In the midst of all this we had Valentine's Day of course. I even had a card from Dudley:
Knowing Len he will have ordered it online, and both images could absolutely be Dudley - but he says 100% they aren't actually him Small one is so like Dudley when he was very young and the main one looks just as he is right now - when he needs a brush just after a good old romp and play session ☺.

Hoping that we'll soon be back to normal in the Playground. I'm still managing to get to you all and comment, even if it's a bit slower than usual.

Lots of love from 'Nurse' Parsnip, Dudley 'the Entertainer' - and of course me,

  1. I'm so glad that you're starting to improve Di, even though you still can't put on shoes (shoes are over-rated anyway!). Well lucky you to have that beautiful die and card sample ready to step in when needed. Yes please to this prize...as it looks really gorgeous with the sparkly glitter paper behind it. I love that it's cut into the card base so doesn't require a lot of fiddly bits glued down.

Hope to see you up and about soon, and back to your crafting!

  2. Oh I am so sorry about that darn gout! Meant to email you & it never happened. Glad you're improving & hope soon you're good as new! Quite the scare first time hubby got it--naturally he was visiting clear across the country! He now seems well-controlled on the preventative med, thankfully. I'm so glad you didn't wait until Christmas as I'm one who loved the die when I saw your card, but didn't let myself get it! Yes, please, I'll play for the prize this time! Such an adorable card--good job, Len! Sending hugs, but not getting close to that foot--haha!

  3. Glad to hear you are on the mend Di, even if it is slow and steady. Hope to visit the playground soon with a make, see how I go. Cathy x

  4. Oh Di, I've been away without internet for a few days and come home to find you all laid up with gout! I hope it improves quickly, I know the agony of it. And I hope you've been able to work out whether you have any "trigger foods" so you know to stay clear of them. For me it's shellfish, for my brother it's orange juice - naturally, among our favourite foods! I've not had an attack in the 10 years since I cut my prawn intake down from 2-3 times a week to about once every 6 months - and boy, do I enjoy them when I do have them!
Anyway, enough medical tips from me, I hope Parsnip and Dudley are doing a great job of looking after you and that they look cute in their nurse's outfits. I'll be back soon with my make and would love to go into the hat when I do.

  5. Yep Jane! It seems to be prawns for me too. We had them twice in the three days before it hit. X

I am so sorry to hear that the gout is still plaguing you big time, but hoping it will be better soon, and it does sound as though it is at least beginning to subside, and Dudley can keep you amused in the meantime. x

  13. Hi Miss Di, Nursie Parsnip, and cutie Dudley.

Yes please if I'm lucky enough.

I'm not sure what you have done to your foot, but it sounds so painful.
The feet are so tender , and always seem more painful than other areas, but I'm sure nurse Parsnip is looking after you beautifully.
Not so sure if Dudley is going to be after your footwear though. LOL.
I do hope you are soon pain free and feeling A1 again.

That card Len gave you for Valentines is brill, and the dogs look just like cutie Dudley.

I did love that card design with that super die cut and all the glitz behind it when you showed the other week.

Lots of crafty love, and gentle hugs. Jenny L.

  42. Dear Di, I hope you are feeling better. Gout sounds like no fun. Sorry I have been absent from the playground and even worse, I missed Darnell's lovely link up for you!! Got hit by the gruesome flu at the end of January. I recommend avoiding that one if you can. Anyway, feeling much improved and Mr Mojo is even starting to perk up a bit. Please include me in the draw for that lovely die and I hope you are getting around again. I am sure Dudley misses you taking him for walkies. Take care. Hugz

  47. So sorry you have been down with the gout...glad it is some better. Prawns apparently are a common trigger food for gout? I don't eat them....too many legs!!! I eat 2 legs and 4 legs. Fish don't have enough and shrimp have too many. Now I am thinking it is just as well. lol... Incidentally, I used to enjoy prawns, but I tried a shrimp the other day at a Chinese restaurant and was NOT disappointed to find that they no longer appeal to me. You have given me additional ammunition. Sorry it is from your gout, though. Hope you get all the way back to abnormal soon!! Ha.

Your card is still just as lovely as when you posted it before. So glad you have it there for us to enjoy again. All that sparkle makes me so happy. Yes, please, to this lovely prize!!

Thank you for another snippets challenge. You are amazing to keep it going when you are under the weather. But that sweet smiling puppy valentine is enough to bring cheer to any ailing body. I can barely believe that is not actually Dudley! Take care!!

  49. Well Di I'm hoping you're a lot more comfortable with your gouty foot as I realized I'd posted and not left a comment - getting old has it's draw backs meaning to do something and forgetting or just not getting back to it seems to happen more often for me. Your card is wonderful never mind that it's re-posted - that is one really nice die and looks magical with your sparkly background... I'd love to win one, I think it would be great to make quick cards.. super cute Valentines card featuring Dudley, get well quick Robyn

  50. Oh Di, I hate that your gout isn't a whole lot better. I know it takes time for it to heal and I hope you have medicine for it as well. Another friend's husband gets it in his hand. At least if it was in your hand, you could still walk! Please rest and get well!!! I am popping in to play for the beautiful die. Thanks my friend for all you do even from your bed!!! 64. Oh dear Di .. .. so sorry to read your foot is giving you so much grief!! I hope that it is starting to improve now. My friend suffers with gout and at the end of last year couldn't wear anything but open toe sandles . .. she felt everyone was looking at her doing Christmas food shopping in them and was so embarrassed. Thankfully she is sorted now.

Can I say "yes please" to that lovely die! I am on a mission this year to get Christmas cards made good and early and this scrummy die looks a real pleasure to use!
