Addicted to CAS - Challenge 100 - 'Monster'

Determined to join in with Addicted to CAS where the theme is 'Monster' right now,  I spotted an unused set of 'monster' stamps here in one of the NBUS boxes - so it would have been rude not to play really!
I used:

- 5" x 7"white card blank, tent style

- piece of slightly smaller white card, embossed using one of the Cuttlebug 'Coolio' set of four embossing folders and glued onto the card front

- a stamp from the Woodware 'The Blimps' set, stamped onto white card stock using Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and coloured using Pro markers

- then I die cut a 'Polaroid' frame using the Lil' Inkers 'Instant Camera' die

- stamped the words 'Selfie time' using  Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a stamp from the 'Good to be Bad' set by Clearly Besotted

- then positioned the image how I wanted it behind the frame with one arm 'out of shot', trimmed it to size and stuck it in place using very narrow red line tape

- added the frame with image to the card front

- finally glued a couple of goggly eyes in place

I quite like the 'outer space' feel of the embossing folder - cue spooky Martians music :)

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #97 - 'Stitched'

The current challenge over at Addicted to CAS (#97) is 'Stitched'. I had several ideas for my entry but time was against me due to the impending 'expedition'. In the end I made this card literally in 10 minutes flat, probably a first for me!
I used:

- 4.25" x 5.5" card blank, tent style

- a stamp called 'Patchwork Daisy' by Funstamps, stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black ink onto white card stock

- coloured the daisy using Pro markers

- die cut the image panel using a Lil'Inkers 'Stitched Rectangle' die

- added the word 'friend' using the Misti, Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a stamp from the Paper Smooches 'Sentiment Sampler' set - oh how I do love those sentiment stamps!

- glued the panel onto the card front

It took longer to write this than to make the card! The photo has a slightly blue tinge to it on my screen here - it's a pure white card and background I promise :)

And to think, I'd never used this stamp before despite having it for ages. It was one of those buys when you just don't feel it's right somehow. I think it's because each petal on the image transfer on the wooden back of the stamp is a different colour with the detail all coloured in different colours too - and it looks quite garish.

I even offered it for sale on here a while ago and was totally underwhelmed by a rush of interest, then I thought I'd just give it away at some point and popped it into a box of slightly unloved stamps that I didn't think I'd ever use again.

Got that one wrong - keeping to one colour for the petals has made me love the stamp all over again :)

Addicted to CAS - 'Sparkle'

I just worked out that this is only the sixth time I'll have entered into the 'Addicted to CAS' challenge. I think it's because the new challenge posts on a Saturday almost at the time I'm writing up the Snippets Playground so it sort of slips past me on the dashboard. I aim to put that right 'toot sweet' and the current challenge code word is 'Sparkle':

And this is what I made, knowing I had a perfect sentiments stamp set to kick start things:
I used:

- 6" x 4" white card blank, landscape style with the opening on the right

- a slightly smaller piece of the same white card stock, with a star die cut in the top left quadrant

- next I stamped the sentiment using two stamps from the MFT 'You were meant to sparkle' set and Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink. The set comes with a large SPARKLE and lots of other wording to combine with it

- die cut a star the same size as the aperture from a snippet of glittery/sparkly silver card - using a die from the MFT 'Stars' set

- popped piece of double sided sticky behind the star aperture with the sticky face showing through the aperture and then popped in the die cut glittery star

- went round all edges of the reverse of the 'star front-piece' with Collall All Purpose glue, leaving the protective backing on the reverse of the added in die cut star area. This meant that patch wouldn't stick to the card blank and I could still have some 'wiggle room' so then I just added the front to the card blank

- decided to 'light up' the word SPARKLE using teeny little clear gems (and, as ever, it was impossible to capture the sparkles properly on camera, sigh)

A fun card to make, and also made so much easier by the lovely sentiments stamps set I used! And I quite like the landscape side opening style as a change :)

Addicted to CAS - 'Sweet'

The current challenge over at Addicted to CAS is 'Sweet'. So, I chose a sweet/cute image with some sweet food:
I used:

- 6" x 6" square scalloped card by Craftwork Cards

- Warren image, already printed, from Craftwork Cards - coloured with Pro Markers and layered onto a round scalloped shape, die cut using a Nestie and pink card from the snippets folder

- sentiment is by Personal Impressions from their 'Keep Calm and' set. Perhaps 'Keep Calm and Eat Cake' would have been more appropriate but 'Bake Cakes' was the closest one in the set

Saturday today and I neeeeed to make my snippets card ready for tomorrow. Last minute as always :(
