ReplyDeleteMy Mother lost 2 husbands in the 2nd world war. The first one was a sailor and his ship was hit by a torpedo from a German U-boat. They then shot dead all the people, as they were trying to get into the little boats. My mother had one daughter and was pregnant with another one. She then married another man and he was only 24 years old. He was a Paratrooper and as he jumped out of his plane in his chute, a German threw a grenade at him, and he died before he hit the ground. Mother was pregnant with his girl. So today was always a special day for her. Carol S.xx
