Birthday cards for Livi and Josh

I suddenly realised I needed three Birthday cards in a real hurry so LOTV Art Pads came to the rescue for two of them. Both cards are very similar in design, which certainly sped the whole process along:

Livi is still playing football and, even though she now has a really cute pixie cut hairstyle, I thought she'd like this card:

And Josh is at the age where I've previously covered all his interests - perhaps someday he'll take up fishing though:

I used:

- 5.5" x 4.25" white card blanks, side opening (how odd though, they look almost square in the photos)

- images from LOTV Art Pads - 'Annabel' and 'Vintage Boys'

- die cut both images using a die from the Presscut 'Oval Stitch Hole' inner and outer set of dies

- used patterned papers from the Lawn Fawn 'Really Rainbow' paper pad for both cards (Livi's also has a border of pearlescent 'Red Velvet' card), trimmed them and glued in place

- glued the image ovals in place

- added sentiment ovals (Craftwork Cards) in the top left hand corners at an angle

- finished!

I whipped these cards up in no time, once organised  - time was getting short to post Livi's to Germany and it's amazing what you can do when a timescale is snapping at your heels! I rarely resort to ready made images these days but they can be a real lifesaver. To be fair to myself, it's a bit of a trial lifting things around and hunting for stuff - even though it's pretty well organised - so making cards isn't so easy physically as it used to be. Sigh, comes to us all though and I'd rather be here still, albeit struggling and groaning/creaking at the seams at times.

  2. Ready made images? Who gives a rat's toenail? They are just so cute and anything you can do to save time once in a while is just fine. I love both of these images. [Bunny]

  7. LOTV have some great images for youngsters, love these cards and I'm sure the recipients will too. I'm with you on your final sentence - difficulty but still being here sure beats the alternative in my book 😉😉 even if things aren't so easy

  12. They are both so very sweet and you can't go wrong with LOTV. I've just had a mammoth week with pre printed stuff, using it up for cards for the food bank and make space!

  13. These are darling, precious cards you made and I love LOTV images! Great colors, and I too am far slower in making cards than I ever was, but I'm still standing! (bent over and weak at the knees, but standing nonetheless!) LOL

  16. I always love LOTV images and you've made great use of them here Di. Having some ready colored ones can be a real lifesaver when you're pushed for time or ideas. The top image reminds me so much of my daughter when she was small and always chasing after her older brother and the ball!
    Hope you are well.
    Take care.

  19. Oooh, these cards are so cute, and using pre-made images doesn't detract at all from the sweet designs. I always have the hardest time finding coordinating papers to go with pre-made embellishments and images, so it takes me twice as long as when I color them myself.
Had to chuckle at your comment that Josh can always take up fishing, in order to better fit with his card theme, haha!
