Addicted to CAS - Challenge #97 - 'Stitched'

The current challenge over at Addicted to CAS (#97) is 'Stitched'. I had several ideas for my entry but time was against me due to the impending 'expedition'. In the end I made this card literally in 10 minutes flat, probably a first for me!
I used:

- 4.25" x 5.5" card blank, tent style

- a stamp called 'Patchwork Daisy' by Funstamps, stamped using Memento 'Tuxedo Black ink onto white card stock

- coloured the daisy using Pro markers

- die cut the image panel using a Lil'Inkers 'Stitched Rectangle' die

- added the word 'friend' using the Misti, Memento 'Tuxedo Black' ink and a stamp from the Paper Smooches 'Sentiment Sampler' set - oh how I do love those sentiment stamps!

- glued the panel onto the card front

It took longer to write this than to make the card! The photo has a slightly blue tinge to it on my screen here - it's a pure white card and background I promise :)

And to think, I'd never used this stamp before despite having it for ages. It was one of those buys when you just don't feel it's right somehow. I think it's because each petal on the image transfer on the wooden back of the stamp is a different colour with the detail all coloured in different colours too - and it looks quite garish.

I even offered it for sale on here a while ago and was totally underwhelmed by a rush of interest, then I thought I'd just give it away at some point and popped it into a box of slightly unloved stamps that I didn't think I'd ever use again.

Got that one wrong - keeping to one colour for the petals has made me love the stamp all over again :)

  10. What an awesome card, Di! Love the simplicity of the design. You made it CAS although the flower stamp looks like Mixed Media styled. Thank you so much for sharing your card at Addicted to CAS challenge. - Sweet Kobylkin

  13. It's an adorable image. And yes, keeping it to one colours with all the design that's going on was a great decision. Isn't it funny how we think we'll never use something, but end up pulling it out of the donate box and having a go ... and loving the results. :) It's happened to me too. Great card, great design, great colours. xx

  14. CAS and cool. Glad you gave the stamp a chance. Why not colour another image and stick it over the "garish" image on the wooden stamp for future reference?

  16. Lol... We've all been there Di. Sometimes stamps look better, sometimes worse when stamped. It's weird, but hey... that's just the way it goes!
Jealous. This only took you 10 mins?
Maybe one day I'll get there and manage that! X
