Such a silly little mouse - and bought not that long ago when I discovered a place based in The Netherlands which still has a few Elzybells stamps in stock - just image ones though.
I used:
- 6" x 6" square white card stock
- Elzybells 'Mouse bauble' stamp, coloured with Pro Markers and a little bit of Anita's glaze added to the bauble cap and the shiny streak on the bauble itself
- cut with a Nesties die, then embossed. The red matting layer was cut by tracing round the outer edge of the die and hand cutting it - red card came from the snippets folder
- sentiment stamped in Memento 'Tuxedo Black' using a stamp by Woodware, included in their 'bubble Christmas tree' set
I made two the same but totally resisted the urge to use any patterned backing paper, embellishments, Josy Rose nail heads or ribbon. Phew, needed a lie down in a darkened room afterwards though.

Adorable Di and well done on not adding anything else. It's perfect the way it is :).
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day xx
Glad you resisted as it looks stunning just as it is! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I had bought this image when elzybells was closing, I also liked the fairy hanging from the tree. A very funny but elegant card Di. Hugs, Amanda x
ReplyDeleteA great image for the challenge Di. I often find that nesties don't increase in size evenly, giving a mat that is wider top and bottom than at the sides, so I quite often use the outer edge of a die instead. Well done for avoiding the 'extras' though I am sure I'd have added nailheads or something! Kate x
ReplyDeleteYeah Baby! (ala Mike Myers in Austin Powers). . . what a SUPER CAS card you've made here Di. Well done for walking away from the card and not adding any extra embellishments.

Super card though I do hope 'Jinks'
ReplyDeleteisn't lurking around behind the tree!! Hugs Mrs A.
p.s. The food timer is defo not working have had it by my craft desk for a day now and it has wizzed around without opening. No wonder poor Wimps was hanging on by a thread!
Love the silly little mouse - delightful card - brought a smile to my face. thanks for joining my CHNC challenge 79 - hope to see you again soon x
ReplyDeleteGreat card DI, I've always loved that image. Shame Elzybells stopped producing her own stamps and closed the store down. You did well to walk away, it was the right thing to do!

Hi Di, oh the sun has gone in and the rain is now falling!! Gorgeous card and the image is just so adorable and coloured beautifully the Glaze is stunning and really shinning on the bauble another great creation:)x
ReplyDeleteLove the card and the stamp. I have this stamp too, but mine is small. Yours appears to be larger and ergo much easier to color. I have seen some other Elzybells stamps that come in both large and small versions. I'm trying not to have stamp envy. But I do.
ReplyDeleteI love this little card, super cute image and it looks fabulous as it is.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the thought on the missing cards, but no they are not with the Christmas cards. I have found one image that was actually not on a card but where the h... the second one is I have no idea, spent nearly all morning searching again.
I have just entered a challenge and I have not used any backing papers on the card as I thought s.. it, a lot of Christmas cards in the shops just have an image on and no fancy papers and besides why should I waste papers on people who send me c... cards. Ethan's card only had papers on the EARTH and I only did that 'cos I would make a pigs ear of the colouring.
Oops a bit of a long comment.

This is just precious!
ReplyDeleteI really love this!
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link to the shop that still stocks Elzybells?
Aww, this is SO cute. I had to smile at this little critter. Great coloring job, and it's wonderful with just the white background. Really showcases your image coloring. TFS
