Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge #17 - embossing

Here's my card  card for Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge - which is to 'Emboss your butterfly/s'. It's a total miracle this got made in time - right now things are very busy here :( I'm faced with the job of stripping a wallpaper border in our bedroom and I swear (quite a lot in fact!) that I must have used cement to put it up in the first place. Funny how fanciful ideas can come back later on and bite your nether regions, sigh :(

That also explains why I've neglected the Playground for a couple of days - sorry!

Anyhow, here's my quick card for Mrs A:
I used:

- 6" x 6" cream card blank

- papers from the Pink Paislee 'Butterfly Garden' collection

- I 'gutted ' the centre of the pink paper I was using as a border round the more heavily patterned paper and then used it to die cut and emboss three butterflies using SU's 'Beautiful Wings' Embosslits and added some teeny little pearls to the bodies of the butterflies

- a length of mink coloured ribbon just to finish off as the vintage paper really did most of the work, along with the butterflies of course :)

I'll be round to see you as soon as possible - promise!

  14. Lovely card, Di, beautiful paper and I love the mink ribbon. I think I'm allergic to wallpaper ... and I think having to remove a border or two over the years may have contributed to this sad situation. I'm sure that the last one we removed had been stuck down with super glue!!! Just keep telling yourself 'this too will pass'. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  18. This is a lovely card Di and the background is so pretty and gives it a great vintage feel. The butterflies are just the right size so as not to obscure the background and the pearls finish them beautifully. Pretty ribbon too. x
